CuervoCon5
 by Jefe De Jefes

Its that time of year again. Time for thick coats, snow tires, double spiked eggnog and... Mexico? Thats right, winter is in full swing, meaning its time for yet another trip to the border for Cuervo Con 5, where the only thing cold is the cheap Corona.

What: computer/drinking/security/drinking/telephony/drinking/guns/drinking
Where: La Posada Hotel/Suites, 1000 Zaragoza,
(956)722-1701, (800)444-2099
When: January 26-27-28
Who: The usual suspects

"CuervoCon is our favorite annual event. We know we can give security a day of rest, because you people are all too drunk to give us any trouble..." - AT&T

"No moleste, por favor." - TeleMex

Have you ever hacked a machine in your hometown from a foreign country?

Have you ever had to convert dollars into pesos to get your bribe right?

Have you ever spent time in a foreign prison, where your "rights as an American" just don't apply?

Have you ever been taken down for soemthing that wasn't even illegal half an hour ago?

YOU WILL! And the con that will bring it to you?

CUERVOCON 5

Speakers

Lepers of Information Exchange (topic: TBA)

people wishing to speak should email cuervocon@darkness.net, almost any related topic is welcome

Events

the 5th installments of how much can you drink and cuervo questions; a shameless ripoff of defcons hacker jeopardy, but with more drinking.

Misc Information

Cuervocon staff should be arriving early in the day friday, to prepare, and scout around mexico. Speakers will be during the day saturday and some sunday. times will be announced that weekend. Mexico bar crawls will be friday and saturday nights, we will probably meet in the hotel bar friday evening circa 8ish to walk the short distance to the border. if you cannot find a cheap flight to laredo, you might want to consider flying to san antonio (approx 2.5 hours) and renting a car. Local caravan info will be posted when we know it.

Mexico Safety Tips

bring some form of ID for getting back into the US. you most likely will not need it, but don't tempt fate. do not start trouble in mexico. when the police arrive, you will be hauled off to mexican jail, whitey, and theres nothing we can do to help you at that point. be careful about drinking water. its generally a bad idea, unless the place is very nice. ice in mixed drinks is generally brought from the US and ok.
