PhoneTag version 1.3 --------------------- Installation notes: 1) Unzip the file SYSTEM.ZIP into your Windows System directory. 2) WAVEWASH.ZIP is just a cool utility I wrote for playing and deleting Wave files... Since it uses the same .DLL files I thought I'd throw it in BONUS! Just put it wherever. The file FLUSH.WAV can go in your Windows directory, if you want to set the working directory to where you keep your wave-files. 3) The other files go in any directory of your choice, but be sure that they share the same directory. Also, when setting up in Windows, they need to have the same working directory. The program requires about 200k free Windows memory. Notes on operation: Well, just enter any kinda number template and let her rip! It will generate a list of up to a billion numbers, based on your number selections... All these numbers go into 2 temp files while creating, so have a little disk space if you're gonna be making huge lists... Also, you can run the list generation in the background, as it sometimes can take kinda long. Just minimize the form and go on to whatever... The program will default to shuffling the numbers after the list is generated, unless you uncheck the shuffle box. Because of a Windows limitation, you can't display more than @5000 #'s at a time in the list boxes... However the code will continue to handle your lists as if the entire thing were visible. Sorry, maybe in version 2. The stealth feature will make the program invisible to both the Task-List and function. It also turns off the modem speaker. To get the program BACK you need to run PhoneTag again. This will make the invisible program return. With a "STARTFILE" and a "STARTTIME/STOPTIME" this can be very useful if you put it on a system somewhere! PhoneTag checks for STARTTIME every second while it's running. If the current time is greater than the starttime, and there's a dialing list, it will begin dialing. Once it passes the STOPTIME it will stop. The program will auto-retry Busy signals after it finishes dialing the list, or the Busy-signal-list gets full(>@5000 entries). You can set the # of retries in SETUP. Also, these #'s are cycled to make sure that they don't just re-dial the same # right after each other. I recommend running at 1200 or 2400 baud, as this gives the quickest connects, and is most widely supported... In the Setup screen, Dial speed is just your modem's "S11" register. The Modem speaker is set via "M(1-4)". Dial Patience is the "S7" register. The Random delay before dialing is just for thrills. The Init string is whatever else you want to send during Initialization. The Capture Cutoff is the amount of time the modem will capture data before it dumps the line. If generating a list with the same areacode, or such, it's good to make the list without the areacode, and use the "dial prefix" feature for the code, to save list memory. You need to put in the "1" before the areacode of course! Also good for sticking in a code to disable call-waiting, to hopefully cut down on people's call-back feature, if they have it... Note that the files are saved in simple ASCII format, so you can export them to the dialer of your choice. Also, PhoneTag will read in the same kinda thing. While dialing if you want to skip to the next number, just hit the "Play" button again, or hit or when the play button has the focus. Anytime this is done it will be as if the # received a "NO CARRIER" from the modem, and delete the number, going on to the next. Anyway, catch me on the IRC sometime and let me know what you think!
