iXHS Issue 23 About Response to a stupid article from the Untouchables By Ruiner Get a Clue, Fool -Ruiner [Ok, I was looking at these files by a group called 'The Untouchables' and I found this article about anarchy that really bothered me, my comments will be in these square bracket thingies -PM] Another article fer you. Tell me what you think. Crazy Ace #203 @666 Sun Oct 02 16:32:22 1994 Disorder. Chaos. Anarchy. What could be more fun? We live in a world where such things are looked up as "evil" and "bad." But what is wrong with a little fun now and then? [err..define fun, if fun is smashing stuff then there's something wrong with it, if fun is reading a book about Socialism or Anarchy, which you obviously haven't done, then it's fine] Some people think that singing is the work of the devil, but does that make singing wrong? [Some people make their living off of killing but does that make killing right?] No. Anarchy is viewed as unacceptable, but look at how all of our woodland friends live. Deer don't have laws and they live just fine. [really good analogy, deer are also incapable of mass murder, they don't have huge deer military superpowers and nuclear stockpiles, deer are not intelligent enough to create laws, I'm sure that if we humans were all at the same level of intelligence as deer are then we wouldn't have laws either.] I once heard a friend say that without laws, everyone would kill everyone else. Not true. In fact, the opposite is true. Some people do "wrong" simply because some one has said that it is "wrong." [Ok, so you're saying that the only reason people kill is because it's wrong, and therefore, if everyone said that it was good, no one would be killing, errr...what about the psychopaths, pedophiles, and kleptomaniacs of the world? There are people that kill, rape, steal because they are compelled to by a mental disorder, you can't lump people together like that and say, they're all doing it because it's not allowed. because people aren't like that, people do things for different reasons, you can't expect people to do what you expect] People would do as they wanted, but not everyone wants to kill. Not everyone has a compelling need to steal and rape and murder. Why do people think that a law, some words on a paper that poloticians who don't know shit about the people they govern, will magicly keep people from doing "wrong?" WAKE UP! People still kill. People still steal. People still rape. Laws don't do shit. If I wanted you dead, you'd be dead. No law would be able to stop me. [True, but with laws, you would have to suffer the concequences, you see, I could easily go on a killing spree through the Byward Market, I can think of a few people I wouldn't mind being dead, I wouldn't mind robbing a bank and making off with a couple hundred thousand dollars, I wouldn't mind stealing a better laptop, but if I get caught then I would have to be punished, and that's why I don't bother doing these things. The thought of spending any time whatsoever in jail doesn't appeal to me. Laws aren't just a cold "YOU DID THE CRIME, NOW YOU DO THE TIME", they're also a deterrent for criminals. Also, what good would getting rid of ALL laws do? Many of the laws are very practical, and I'd prefer not to do without them, thanks] Why do people equate anarchy with mass murder? It just ain't so! Most humans, however, are just too weak to live with freedom. [generally I'd say that we are free, the government isn't really restricting my actions, I've been to the states many many times, I've never been arrested for saying 'What a stupid looking flag' every time I see the US flag, I'd say that we are free to an extent, obviously though, by your standards, we aren't free unless all laws are abolished] [Drivel about PGP cut] misguided image of freedom, just smile, nod your head, and have pity on them. [oops, I cut too much, anyways the last words preceding the final line were 'the next time you hear someone knocking anarchy blah blah blah'] This has been an anarchy service message brought to you by rz . Anyways, that was a two year old file I couldn't help but comment on, Crazy Ace is now probably a Republican US Senator. -Pogue Mahone
