        It seems today, that most people have the attitude that if a story
isn't on the front page of a major paper, it didn't happen.  If someone they 
know tells them something, they accept it without question, no matter the 
stupidity of the remark.  Not only is this position stupid and na‹ve; it
is also dangerous.   

        I have recently come accross one idiot, who's alias is Army Ambushman,
who holds these views.  He is convinced that the drug and alcohol abuse among
natives is greater than ever.  When told that there were studies that showed
the levels of abuse going down, he denied it:

        I do watch the fucking news I have never seen any shit about then 
        doing extensive testing to see if natives are on drugs.

        AV> It's been going for a few years now. Alcoholism and drug abuse 
        AV> has sharply dropped among the Natives.

        NOt from what I have seen.


He is convinced that the few people of different backgrounds he has met are 
always typical of their race, religion, occupation, or whatever.  He says he 
has met a couple member of the military, and they were "the biggest druggies 
i have ever seen".  He then went on to say how the military has a massive 
drug problem.  He has since been added to my list of BBS idiots.  Slot number 
3.

        Another idiot on the same board, Maniac, (notice that they always 
gather in groups) was told by his father, a cop, that affermative action was 
bad, because minorities who had been on the job for a year got a promotion, 
and white men who had been working as police for 14 years got squat.  Here's 
what he said:  

        sure... like all the somalians that get high jobs in the police 
        force.. and the reason they come here is they are afraid they 
        will get killed in there country?? but then again all the kids 
        just outta colege that want a job on the force can't get it 
        because they gotta give the jobs to minorities!

        ok so in otttawa there are more whites then blacks... bu the 
        blacks  and white females get the promotion even though most are 
        new imployes and the people that have been on the job for 10 years 
        and more ge shit!

Strange that I've only ever seen 3 female cops, and 1 black cop in Ottawa, and 
I've lived in the area for 19 years.  If someone has been working at a job 
for 10 years, and not gotten a promotion, it's because he's an idiot, not 
because he's white (note that I am a white male, and therefore receive no 
benefit from affirmative action, though I agree with it).  The attitude of 
these people, is that if the person is a minority, and gets a promotion before 
a white male, there's something wrong.  They say that they aren't being
racist, but if they hear about minorities complaining when one of there own
is shot commiting a crime, they immediatly say that they are being racist.
They don't seem to understand (or maybe they do, and are insulted) that 
affirmative action is only present to counter-act the extreme biases, which
people like them, hold.  I dislike people even more than openly racist groups,
since they don't even have the courage to openly voice their opinion, making 
them both stupid and cowardly.  At least members of most rascist groups let 
you know who they are.  

        Now, if you ever meet ignorant shits like these two, do one of two 
things:  either get them to see that they really are ignorant shits, and to
change (unlikely, since they typically just ignore you, and call you a queer),
or blacklist them, and warn everyone you know about them.
