The following position is currently available:

Position: Web Graphics Designer (Artist)

Description:

Create artwork for various website projects, using industry-standard tools such as Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator, and GIF Animator. Incorporate these graphics into a well-designed and attractive web page. Test on all major browsers - fix any incompatibilities.

Requires a thorough (and we mean thorough) knowledge of computer graphics programs, along with a good understanding of graphic image formats (i.e. the difference between GIF and JPEG, and when to use one instead of the other), transparency, palettes, layers and filters. This does not mean you're "familiar with graphics" just because you've heard of these programs before.

An understanding of the HTML specifications, and the ability to code raw HTML (without a "helper" program such as Front Page) is a plus!

You must also be comfortable working with explicit nude images - and capable of maintaining a professional attitude at all times.

Salary commensurate with experience. Target wage is $52K/yr

The Simple Test.


Below is a graphics image. To be considered for this job, you need to do the following:
  1. Download the image to your hard drive.

  2. Using your graphics program, cut out each of the colored shapes and save them as separate files.

  3. Create a basic web page, with a TABLE in the CENTER.

  4. Using the individual graphics you just made, place them in the table so that they look EXACTLY like the solid graphics below.

  5. Your end result should be a page that looks the same as this one, BUT is a table instead of just one solid image.

  6. When you're done, put it up on the web and let us take a look at it. Email us the full URL. Include your name, telephone number and anything else you think we should know about you (such as URL's of other projects).
