Internet and Imagery Report for MCI's MAE Facilities

Of all the players in the Internet exchanges, MCI is probably the most important in terms of this project. MCI has many communications contracts with the US Government and it is at these facilities I would expect the NSA to have Carnivore-like systems hooked into the network.

MAE East

1. 8521 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA (22182)

2. Reston, VA (20191). I have found two addresses: 11876 Sunrise Valley Dr and 2100 Reston Parkway. From someone's resume I found on Google, they list the MCI WorldCom Corporation at the 2100 Reston Parkway address. This person was Senior Vice President of Internet Architecture and Technology. Both addresses, though, are in the same area and across the street from one another.

3. 21830 Uunet Dr, Ashburn, VA (20147) Washington Post says the address is 22001 Loudoun County Pkwy. An article on the web mentions the Corporate HQ is near Dulles International Airport. However, after viewing the imagery, both are just down the road from one another.

4. New York, NY (10013) Google says the street address is 60 Hudson St, Ste 201, and calls it MCI International, the old Western Union Bldg. This is the same address as one of Switch and Data's facilities and they list MCI and MCI International as being part of this facility.

5. Miami, FL (33132). Although I'm not sure this is the one, NAP of the Americas is listed at 50 NE 9th Street, same zip. There is also an MCI unit at Switch and Data's Facility as well: 1 NE 1st St, Miami, FL 33132

MAE Central

1. Dallas (75207). One of the addresses listed for MCI maps to Switch and Data's 2323 Bryan St location. And there are indications that MCI uses Switch and Data's 1950 Stemmons site as well.

2. Chicago (60605). Switch and Data lists MCI as being one of the tenants at their facility at 427 South La Salle St.
