This 'n' That - By Rocky

We all survived Dayton again this year and had too much fun.

John and Jackie of the RIB Spot were the ever perfect host, thanks again "Mom and Dad". It was also great to see all the people that came by the booth this year. I spent more time in the booth this year than in years past, partially due to the heat. There were bargains to be had everywhere but there seems to be changes in what is sold each year. If you were there I know you had a good time and if you weren't there this year, now is the time to start planning for next year. Unfortunately due to time constraints with the booth, shopping and the 4 radio broadcasts, we did not get the pictures up on the web site until after the show. By the time you read this, Dan will have the pictures from Dayton posted at: www.freeyellow.com/members2/swn/dayton.html

Come by and take a look at the fun we were having. Well, here it is, the month of June. In January we had 18 updates, now we have 26. As we go to press I have been told the last 3 to get us to 26 will be a little harder to remove than in the past. But who knows? There were people in January that said you couldn't remove the original 18.

There are bets being taken on when the next card swap will start, some say this fall. If News Datacom is true to form as with European card swaps, that would be about right. In Europe the swaps come about every 18 to 24 months.

Well I have lots of promises of new devices to test but none have show up at this time.

The most action on the IRC is with the #MAGIC channel. This was the channel that released Merlin which was at version 2.2 last month but proceeded to version 2.6 before being transformed into Pegasus. The current version of Pegasus is 1.1. Another update that came last month is version 2 of Volcano. The MAGIC group is promising a un26 file for donators. The file is said to be password protected so if you are not a donator it will not run. To become a donator contact Magic in the IRC channel #MAGIC. The following is information from Sister Freeware on other new releases.

If luck is with us there will be information on un99ing a H card in the field. There are units out there for this now but unless you are a very large dealer you don't want to know the price.

Well until next month happy testing and remember, this information and these tools are for learning and testing only and should not be use for theft of programming.
