Folks in the satellite underground have been aggessively working on a new product. The product is known as the Combo Card. This new Combo Card offers some unique features that we have never seen before. Here is basically how it works.
The Combo requires the use of a 5000+ series plastic authoritazion card. The Card can either be a virgin card or a card that cantains programing. Authorzation cards that contain PPV purchases are not desirable for use with the combo unit. For security reasons, the plastic authorization card is married to the combo card device through a unique plastic key.
From what I understand at this point, is the integrity of the plastic card will remain intact
and still can be used in the receiver that it was mated to prior to being installed into the
combo device, should the need arise to stop using the combo device.
The following information and comments were provided from a source that conducted tests on the combo card.
What this unit does is different from everything we've seen before. The plastic card is used 100%, not just the ASIC. If you understand computer networks, you can understand this card. When you buy a PPV(or whatever), "the satellite company" sends a command over the air which says (ACTIVATE CHANNEL #X AT X TIME FOR PLASTIC CARD #X). Every receiver gets that command, but if your receiver # does not match the command sent, that command is rejected. This unit attachs YOUR card ID # to the activation packet. In other words, the plastic gets the command "the satellite company" would send if you were to call to activate a station or PPV.
When the unit is just inserted in the receiver and you do channel surfing, it will sometimes take 2 seconds to get a picture. For the first 2 seconds, it says: "you are not authorized", at this point the unit figures which correct packet should be sent to activate that station. It figures it and sends it over. HE-HE, THAT CHANNEL COMES ON. You switch channel and it takes another 2 seconds for the unit to figure that channel key. Now if you go back to the previous channel, it will be instant on because it was activated recently. If you are to remove your plastic from the unit and insert it directly in the receiver, you would get the channels that were activated recently by the unit, but you'd lose channels one by one as "the satellite company" is refreshing their keys. Putting it back in the unit reactivates it (once the unit has calculated the valid keys once more).
Oh, sorry, I was on the ECM topic. If you understand what was previously mentioned, you could see this is hard to ECM. Since the plastic is used 100%, unlike the old bats, the unit will accept any command "the satellite company" sends (the bat chip didn't understand plastic command, thus the frequent ECMs). Since everything is married also (CAM ID check will be passed). Since the plastic is not really modified, checksum check should always be passed. Usually 3M goes down because the card's coding is modified and checksums aren't met.
Let's pretend there is an ECM... You would need an eeprom burner (there is a removable chip on the card). You would also need the current "main" and an interface to load the chip, (something like "LOAD.EXE"). This kprogram would ask you to type in your card key number(which is supplied by the group). Again for security's sake, that main can be widely available because it is useless without correct PK#s. So, with an eeprom burner, you could reactivate all your buddies cards, since they can give you their PK#s (supplied by the group). You'd start the program. The program will ask you for the PK# for the card you want to update, you enter the # and that's it, the chip gets updated... next card!
In networking: many packets are sent, all packets are read by all receiver. some packets are rejected because they are not addressed to your receiver. ALL PACKETS ARE READ BY ALL THE RECEIVERS, SOME ARE REJECTED. A packet to activate channel 101 would contain (ACTIVATE CHANNEL 101, AT 9 PM FOR RECEIVER with card # 1111 1111 1111). If your receiver is not #1111 1111 1111, that packet is rejected and that channel is not decrypted. If you have that number, the card can then tell the receiver to decrypt that channel and let you see it. WHAT THE UNIT DOES, IS ATTACH YOUR CARD # to the activation packet. The unit sends to the plastic card, the information "the satellite company" would send if you were to actually call the company(NEAT OR WHAT??)

Well winter is fast approaching us here in the midwest. This means that it is time to make sure your big dish is ready to withstand what the harsh winter elements.
If you don't already have a rubber boot on the actuator arm, get one and put it on. The rubber boot is the only way that you can ensure that your actuator arm will not freeze up. Next, check all the hardware and make sure that it all the mounting bolts are tight and in good condition. Apply a small amount of lithium grease to the dish axis pivot points. This will ensure that your dish will move freely thoughout the winter. Lastly, check all electrical connections make that these connections are tight and free of corrosion.

Hi I am baaack! We have talked about a lot of things and I think it is time to get to work and talk about "What happens if they come here!", you know, Uncle Charley, the guys from down town. In many cases you out there are doing the Patriot radio thing. Yea, I know, some of you are doing the oldies radio, the news from the block and that is good but lets face it, if you have seen Waco the rules of engagement, the directors cut, there is no doubt in your mind that we have been cheated out of our first amendment rights by simply not hearing it all! How clever eh? If you do see it, it is not for the faint of heart!
First of all there are several questions you must ask yourself. Are you going to be able to be in the fight for the duration? That is, are YOU PERSONALLY going to be in it for the entire lenght no matter what? Also, do you have a plan of action pertaining to the legal points in place READY for use.
Several other things that may influence the possible action by you are; How much power are you running and are there any local stations affected by you? Not by interference, but by getting too much of the market share! Yup, it is not what you say but how many dollars you "take". Gee, maybe you are telling the story WE THE PEOPLE want to know. You mean that we don't all want to know stuff like where we can get our very own chia pet?... (pottery that grows! WOW).
First of all, get a support group that can be depended upon for MONETARY support. If there is paperwork to do be sent out and the like, you will need money even if you already have it written. Some of the people will have to have a division of labor. That is everyone has a job and many hands make light work. You will be under stress and all of the details will have to be in place. You will also may need to look at a bail-out point. No, not get you out of jail, but a point at which you may retreat without extreme loss of time, money or assets.
We have talked about the jurisdictional issues and we still know that this is true. HOWEVER, we also know that many times that we are seeing that the "government" the corporate United States not the united States disobeys it's own laws to achieve it's own agenda. For those of you who have not discerned this difference as of yet, go to your legal dictionary, i.e. Black's Law dictionary, and Look up "words of Art". No I am not going to get it for you because not until you do that are you going to understand for yourself!!
Many times it is a case of brinksmanshiip. Who will flinch first and who will go back to their corner. The questions should all be answered before the visit. The entire issue of jurisdiction in ALL matters before us in the question of individual rights, is that of Constitution versus that of a contract. You say, well I did not sign any contract! Well, you (me all of us) have many times and not even known it! For example: That driver's license in your pocket is (in all States) a contract to drive a commercial vehicle. (The term vehicle is a word of art, get it!?)
The Constitution gives us the right to travel anywhere we want to go without the license! NOT that we want incompetent drivers, but we get the commercial contract along with it, so the State of ...... (yes the State of ... is not what you think it is!) gets the REVENUE (MONEY CREDITS ECT) to "let" you drive. I am not, repeat, not telling you to rip up your license, tear off your tag on your conveyance (what you thought was your "vehicle"). The FACT IS that several States in the respective Supreme Courts have recognized the RIGHT to travel without a license and without insurance (you only need a bond to protect you) at a MUCH MUCH cheaper rate than that of "insurance".
Don't you find it fascinating that that corporate State regulates the insurance companies (another corporation!?) Sort of like the fox watching the hen house? Of course all of this has been done with right amount of homework BEFORE that fact. That is my point of all that. The only jurisdiction that the DC government has in JUST in DC and any interstate activity. It is however, hard to put the genie back into the bottle after so many years of "having it their way" not to mention the awful job our schools have done teaching us over the years and how little we know about our Constitutional Republic (NOT DEMOCRACY) Even the teachers I have talked to say we live in a Democracy! A Republic by definition is where the PEOPLE are soverign. Look up Democracy while you are at it EH?!
I think that now you have some basic tools to use to think about and as I go into the deeper details on this jurisdictional question on how do I get on the air? In a nutshell always, always challenge jurisdiction because by their own admission (the fcc) they have NONE on intrastate use of the airways.
