Brother Chuck Spooner DPS #239 left our presence to live in Our heavenly Fathers mansion in heaven yesterday, He had been having in home hospice care for some time. Arrangements are pending and I will advise when they are completed. For those who will please pray with me for the family.

Heavenly and loving Father we have lost another honorable and worthy brother from our presence to dwell in Your Kingdom alongside all of our brothers and sisters who have also moved to Your kingdom. Father Brother Chuck Spooner served our profession with honor, dignity, professionalism and integrity for all of his career and leaves behind many traits to be followed by those coming into our profession. We come this day seeking Your loving and tender grace to be in the hearts of all his family and his brothers and sisters from law enforcement who mourn his loss. Let them feel this loving touch and know it is from You and let the period of grief be replaced with the joy of knowing he is with You and with all the pleasant memories of his life to bring peace and tranquility. We ask this Father in the Holy name of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Brother Sal Garcia #1959, ret Phx PD needs prayer for his granddaughter Jazmine. See his message below. For those who will please pray with me for Jazmine and the entire family.

Tom, my granddaughter Jazmine 13yrs, had knee surgery at Phoenix Children's Hospital yesterday
and it took the doctors 3 hours to remove the titanium knee and another 2 hours to install her replacement.
The doctors then checked her and found no pulse on her foot. They did an ultra sound then called for a
cardiovascular surgeon to see if they could get her pulse back into her leg.So back into surgery last night
for a second surgery to see what was going on. The doctors said her artery was really red, because of all
the chemo she had gone through the past two years. The doctor cut open her artery and found a blood
clot then the put in a stint in or plastic tube for better blood flow. This operation took another hour and
half Jazmine was put in ICU last night and my daughter Bernadette, Jazzy mom stayed with her.
Bernadette called this morning saying Jazmine still has no pulse in her leg. She needs a blood transfusion
because she is low in HG.

Gracious and loving Father there is nothing more precious to the adults in this world than our children and grandchildren. We always desperately want the best of health and strength for them that they may grow into a better adult than we are. At this time Father a brother Sal Garcia has a granddaughter who has undergone some very serious surgery and there is a sever problem with blood circulation in her leg that underwent the surgery. Father You know every cell in Jazmine's body and the exact cause of the problem. We come to You with love and worship to Your all knowing and perfect healing to be upon Jazmine healing all the surgical wounds and cleansing her blood arteries that her circulation will be returned to normal in Your perfection. As her healing progresses we seek Your wisdom and discernment to come into all medical personnel attending to Jazmine guiding all of their actions and treatments to accomplishing perfect healing through You. Father set Your loving grace into the hearts of all of Jazmine's family who at this time are having fears and sorrows from her condition. Let them feel Your presence in their hearts knowing it is from You and that Jazmine's recovery is in Your all perfect hands. We seek these things Father in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Female Officers Facing Increased Dangers in 2011
On December 28, 2010, Police Officer Jillian Smith of the Arlington, Texas, Police Department was shot and killed while heroically saving the life of an 11-year-old girl by placing herself between the girl and a gunman bent on murder. Officer Smith was not only the last officer to be killed in 2010, she was also the sixth female officer killed last year.

Just three days later, on New Year's Day, we suffered the very first line of duty death of the year. And again, a fearless female officer was the victim of a crazed gunman who ambushed her. Deputy Suzanne Hopper of the Clark County, Ohio, Sheriff's Office was fatally shot as she took photos of what was believed to be vandalism of a trailer.

In all of 2010, only six female officers were killed in the line of duty, just 4% of the 160 total deaths. So far in 2011, a total of eight - yes, eight - female officers have been killed in the line of duty, which puts the year on track to more than double the total from 2010. This year, female officers account for 10% of all line of duty deaths. Percentage wise, it is the deadliest year EVER for female officers and, at the current pace, is on track to be the deadliest by total numbers as well.

Including this year, the deadliest years for female officers are:

* 2011 numbers are through June 1st. Click on the chart to enlarge.
Sergeant Betsy Smith (ret) is one of the foremost authorities on training law enforcement officers. Despite the spike in female deaths this year, Betsy doesn't see this as an attack on female officers. Rather, she attributes the increase to the overall uptick in attacks on police officers in general:

"Even though the number of women in law enforcement is not necessarily increasing, the profession is becoming more deadly for us because it is becoming more deadly for all of us. Criminals are more willing to shoot a cop, assault an officer or drive drunk and crash into us. Women rarely succumb to LOD heart attacks, and we tend to be better at mitigating risk, but we're also out there, day after day, standing beside our brothers, willing to sacrifice."

Betsy's comment drives the point home. Regardless if you're a male or female crime fighter; a police officer or deputy sheriff; a full time, part time or reserve LEO: You must be safe out there because the dangers are increasing.

Richard,

Cabo is somewhat up in the air. In the past it’s been a shopping day / cabo wabo / and hanging out along the Marina at cantinas. This year with two days we are thinking about a resort on one day, and shopping / Medano beach on the other. From what I’ve read, Finisterra allows free use of facilities with purchase of food and drinks. Villa Del Palmar is an all inclusive for $50.00 a head…both look pretty nice.

Medano Beach has many beach establishments that offer all the water sports, drinks, and food. All of them seem to be in walking distance of each other along the beach.

On a side note, this could be the first port lecture I actually attend on a ship. The ship staff always know the best places to go.

I’m so sorry to do this, but our model isn’t able to make it and we need an officer along with a patrol car for a photo shoot this evening. Via Linda Police station. 6pm, if possible. Full uniform. Please. My cell is 480-330-4625. Will make it worth your while, somehow. J

Hello Richard!

No worries, ask me as many questions as you need to help with deciding on the best direction to pursue. I will submit a request to find out what transfers over to the two programs mentioned below. I completely understand your concerns with post retirement and I’ll do everything I can to help you out. It sounds like you’re taking the correct steps to make an educated decision along with following what you called to do. I was off campus yesterday, my son had another ear infection so had to play daddy daycare for a little while. J I’ll let you know when I get the results.

Blessings,

David Duffy

Hey David sorry it gas taken so long for me to get back with you but I have been extremely bust at work and I have also been doing a lot of research reference post retirement and career choices. I'be been talking to several teachers and school administrators at my church as well as my Pastor and I've been doing a lot of praying for direction. If it is not to much if a hassle do you think you can do an analysis for two other degree programs GCU offers? Basically to see what credits I currently have and how they would transfer to these other programs. The first is Bachelor of Science Business Administration and secondly Bachelor if Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management.
Hopefully that is not asking to much. I just want to make sure I'm following what God wants me to do.
Thanks

The cost for the cabin with the boys is $2015.63 including the gratuities, or $671.88 per person, if you do 2 cabins it would be $755.21 per person.

Hi Richard,

OK, I checked the sailing, I can't add a 4th person to the boys cabin, and I don't have a quad cabin in that category, so your only option to have them on the same deck is to do 2 double cabins, the rate with gratuities is $755.21 per person, so there would be an additional cost of $250 to do 2 cabins...I have a couple of cabins that would be close to yours. Let me know....

Hi Ingrid,

I have a question for you reference our cruise next year. I don't know if you remember Pierre and Brenda Baines they cruised with us before. we invited them to go with uson this next cruise and to bring their son (same age as our boys) they cant go but asked if it was possible to add their son to ours. So my question is can we add one more passenger to our booking and is it possible to put four to a cabin or would we need to get two cabins and put two boys in each. Then the other issue would be finding the cabins near each other again. Please let me know what we can do (if anything).

Also as a side note Pierre will probably be getting in touch with you. They are making plans for an Alaskan cruise for their 25th anniversary in two years and we will be going with them so whatever info you may have about that would be appreciated. We may be too far out for you to have info at this time but just givng you a heads up.

Thanks,

Richard Wooten

Richard and Steve,

I have attached the Usher Conference Schedule. I need a minimum of 3 Ushers for each service. I have Dave Rudick plugged in for all of the conference. Dave if you can write in the sessions you know you will be able to work. I just need two ushers for each of the sessions. Please plug in who you have recruited and reply to all when sending it back. I have a list of people I can pull from who signed up to volunteer. I would prefer to use our current ushers before I use non-ushers. Please try and get this list back to asap. Thanks guys!

God Bless!

Hi Richard-

We added a new player to your roster today. His name is Braeden Miller, his parents are Davy and Stacy Miller and they can be reached at 214.597.8881 or 972.343.8283 and by email at soonermom2019@yahoo.com. If you could give them a call and let them know they’ve been added to your roster that would be great. I will get a shirt to your practice tomorrow for him. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Attached is the skimmer list. I added a couple more. The new Sicce pumps and the Bubble blaster pumps on the new design reef octopus skimmers are excellent. I just got the Octopus Extreme XS 160 for my tank. It should arrive later this week but has great reviews so far. The best skimmers on the list for your tank would be the Reef Octopus Extreme XS 200 or the Super Reef Octopus 2000.

Thanks

Thanks

> Lastly, we really need everyone to participate in the jog-a-thon fundraiser, if every player and cheerleader can raise at least $100 - $150 we will have enough to cover cheer uniforms and player jerseys and all the other items like belts, socks, etc. We know it's not easy, but please do what you can. Please do not give up on sponsors, we really need those, and the cookie dough fundraiser. I know it's a lot, but if we can get this money raised asap, we can get down to playin' football and cheering!!!!!

> Thanks for your support, the team is looking really great!!! And please don't hesitate to get involved, the more parent particiaption we have the better!!!!

Good morning Beth how is everything?

Just wanted to update you reference our closing, the walk through is still scheduled for 6-6-08 at 0800hrs. Not sure how they are going to have everything ready but we will see. There is one issue of concern that we have noticed in the eve above the front door (pretty high up) we have noticed every time we have gone to see the house several bees going behind the eve into what appears to be a crevice or hole. We have notified the sales office on several occasions and they said that an exterminator would take care of the situation as of Monday 06-02-08 I could still see the bees. When we have gone into the house we found several dead bees in different locations.

My main concern is that if the bees got into the walls and started to create a hive I really don't know what the exterminator would be able to do and in time I would be concerned about a rotting bee hive behind my drywall. I think Debbie and I would feel more comfortable if we had something in writing that dealt with later issues reference the bee situation. Really it 's not like we saw a swarm of bees and I am not sure how bees work as far as starting a bee colony. I don't know if these are the scout bees looking for a new location for the queen or if the queen has already relocated to our walls.

If you could give us some direction on how we should approach this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

RIchard and Debbie

I need to do a little shopping for tomorrow's small group meeting. I am great with you getting the check, and you can deliver it also if you have the time. Katherine just wants to get by the house before she shops for her room.

Thanks for understanding believe me if it were just the house this decision would not have been so difficult. Our biggest battle was the fact that we connected with you and not going through with the deal meant a separation from you. We felt more committed to you than the house.

We will try and get out to you on Sat we were supposed to take Zack to Marana for a birthday party but I am not sure if that is still happening I will let you know.

Thanks Donna for all you have done,

    Richard & Debbie,

I am so sorry this never worked out. I figured when I didn't hear back from you yesterday it wasn't good. I truly understand because this entire thing has been very frustrating for me as well. I am putting in request for your $5K to be refunded, my manager is gone until 5/15. We have already submitted for permit so the home will be build regardless because we can't take permits back once submitted. Due to everything going on I feel they will return your money. I wish you and your family only the very best. You both have been a joy to work with.

I will need to have you sign a cancellation form. If you want to come in on Saturday I will get it written up for both of you to sign. I also need to have you return the green binder, make sure & take all your personal paper work out of it.

Donna when you called this afternoon I apologize for not talking to you about this letter I was just called to respond to a drop house in Mesa. I want you to know that Debbie and I appreciate your efforts in this situation but the ultimate decision had to be what we felt was best for our family. I don't know who this letter needs to go to but I wanted to start with you.

We decided to go with the Pulte home at White Tank Foothills and we found a spec home that will ready to close June 15th as I stated in the letter it was not our first choice but the circumstances surrounding the delay of our Woodside home caused us to rethink some things. If you could get this letter to the appropriate people I would appreciate it.

Once again I apologize for not being able to talk to you this afternoon.
