ExEd!
Welcome at ExEd!s Private COMpiler homepage. The page contains the free Private COMpiler product of ExEd! with lots of example sources and utilities. PCOM creates a DOS-compatible .COM or .EXE from a PCOM-sourcefile. The sourcefile is compiled into fast and tiny 8086 executable machine code for best performance. The current version of PCOM, which can be downloaded here, is able to generate the .ASM source code of your sourcefile, so that you can use the benefits of PCOMs programming language and add some code yourself.
What is it?
The Private COMpiler builds a .COM, .EXE or .ASM file from a given sourcefile.
Some features?
Easy to understand programming language, even for those who aren't familiar with assembler, c, Pascal or any other 2nd or 3rd generation language.
You can use variables on some important commands. The length of the variable name isn't important and it's case insensitive.
You can protect your executables using encryption or/and with anti-hacker code.
You can predefine your compiler arguments using a PCOM.CFG configurationfile.
You can compress the executable right away, so it's as small as possible.
And finally, PCOM-executables support long filenames.
Is there more?
You can download PCOM-FB.ZIP which contains a Private COMpiler frame builder. If you are as lazy as I am, you can use this program to generate a text window with some text in it. This way you do not have to use an ANSI editor, or something else like typing in the character codes using the <alt> key.
The DIFF utility shows the differences between two files with the possibility to create a PCOM-sourcefile. The sourcefile can be compiled without any additional coding.
The FONT utility gives the possibility to change the dos font. FONT saves the output in binary way which is used by the PCOM $fnt:... command.
With REG2SRC you can easily generate a PCOM-sourcefile using an exported registry keyfile. The source will create a temporary hkey, update the users registry and remove the temporary hkey. All you have to do is to add your banner!
Use PCFG to create or modify the PCOM.CFG-configuration file, using an interface.
