COMMENT:
- ------

Unfortunately such a beautiful program "TCMonitor" cannot be running as a
single application. Moosoft has bundled it in "The Cleaner" package.

This small modified version of "tcm.exe" is able to work alone and
is now called as "tcn.exe". Original version was build 1018.

files: tcn.exe - the executable usually it runs to autostart
tcn.reg - installation data of registry for win9X
tcn_hlp.hlp - the helper is just a bit more closed
          readme.txt - you are inside
        * tcn.hlp - the helper inside the executable
        * tcn.dat - the data file for win9X, can be edited by hand
or remove it from directory for auto new file
        * tcn.log     - current session history
        * tcn.loc - same as datafile above, but session before
        * tcn_rep.txt - generated registry report file
+ tcn.wav - a new sound, if you dislike the original inside

If you use any "Windows" version as OS I am extremly sorry to tell you:
Nobody can make it safety if that does not run offline. However this tool
brings you a step forward to reach the aim.

The TCMonitor utility will watch important registry keys and files.
Any time one of these items is modified, TCMonitor will alert you.
You can ignore the alarm if you are sure you made the change or
you know what happened or you can examine the changed information.

TCMonitor will tell you what it expected to see and what is really there.
You can then choose to edit the data or leave it alone.

TCMonitor can disable JavaScript and VBScript if you choose to do so.
That will help prevent trojans that use these scripts.

If you want to change the sound TCMonitor makes, simply place a wav file
of your choice in the directory with TCMonitor. Name the sound file
tcm.wav and TCMonitor will use it the next time it starts.

Alarms:
- -----

When an alarm is triggered it is because data in the monitored item has
changed. This will often happen when new programs are installed on your PC.

If you know (you has changed smth) then you can simply disable the alarm.

If it happened unexpectedly then you can examine the changed data and
decide now what you want to do: "leave it alone" or "edit it".

Editing:
- ------

Edit of the registry of windows can cause more problems than it solves..
means be careful if you use the edit function.

If you are not so comfortable using "Regedit" or "Notepad"
you should ask someone for help who has a bit more experience than you.

Fixing the registry:
- ------------------

Trojans often modify the keys that tell windows
     - how to run and
       - which application may run programs.

This procedure will restore the defaults for EXE, COM, BAT and CMD files.

VBScript (Visual Basic Script) and JScript (JavaScript) are commonly
  trojan files.

Proggy will set the default command to edit instead of execute the file.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
PEACE.. all over the world!
