I'm back! After 3 weeks of absence in the cracking scene I was finally able to give a quality time in cracking. Now, tnx to Fr1c, I'm armed with much more knowledge in cracking (download fr1c's ezine at tnt and you'll know what i'm talking about). Well let's put our brains into action and begin cracking.

By now most crackers (newbie and intermediate) have their SC configured in extracting infos on crackmes. If your's is not set to such configuration (?) visit the sandman's site or eb's or mail me and i'll send you ev's tutorial on configuring sc.
Start sc and load our crackme. Type anything in the text box then click register. As expected we have a message "Wrong serial!" at the bottom of the crackme form. But now sc has gathered enough info so we can now exit the crackme. Expand the Command1_Click thread then click Text1.Text. Finally click the show all event button. Right after the Text1.Text line is "_vbaStrCmp returns DWORD:1" click on this then look at your right most screen. Notice that string1 "Franjo" is being compared to string2 "string you typed". So what is "Franjo"? Try it and you'll know what. ;)
Btw, not all vb crackmes can be cracked by sc. In my next tutorial you'll see a different approach.
