2600 Meetings Around the UK

2600/Hack/Phreak meetings give you an oportunity to meet fellow hackers,phreaks, crackers, coders, cloners, traders, techies, cryptos, potheads, lamers, elites, wannabees and hasbeens.

Anyone one who is interested can attend, we're aiming to attract both BBS users and Internet users. Whether you're an Elite BBS sysop or a VMB hacker you're welcome. Pass on this information to your friends and get your local BBs to advertise it!

Manchester

Location : Cyberia, Manchester
Date : First Friday in every month
Time : 7pm onwards

Plan Of action: Meet 7pm in Cyberia, and when that shuts we head towards the local pubs...
Manchester meetings start in the Cyberia Internet Cafe on Oxford Road (opposite Odeon Cinema, next to St. Peters Square). Between six and eight, after which we will be moving on elsewhere.
Any buses or Metrolink trams stopping at St.Peters Square will take you almost to the door of Cyberia. This is about 5 minutes ride on the metrolink from either the Picadily or Victoria Train Stations.

If you are interested in the computer underground, and live in the North-West then this is for you, feel free to come along, whatever your age, experience or knowledge.

In the past meetings have provided an opportunity to meet respected computer security professionals, well known figures in the H/P scene, and other like minded individuals. To discuss major issues,learn new tricks, and educate others.

Meetings can be expected to last until at least 10/11, however it has been known for meetings to last till 9/10 on Saturday morning! How can I find you: Look for 2600, AAA and hopefully UK H/P T-Shirts, hopefully there will be enough of us not to be missed. Phantom's a pretty huge guy and a bit hard for you to miss! When you get there don't be shy, grab a beer (and one for us :) ) and come and introduce yourselves. Turnout varies between 20 and 30 people usually.

Leeds

Location : Next to the payphones, Leeds Train Station
Time : 7pm onwards
Date : Varies, although generally second Friday in every month

We meet at the Payphone between 6-7pm and then usually head for Mc Donalds and then move onto the local pubs. You shouldn't have any problems finding us there is normally a couple of us there at about 6.30pm.

Hull

Location : The Old Grey Mare pub, opposite The University of Hull.
Date : Varies, usually the final Friday in each month so as to not clash with Manchester. Email before travelling.
Time : 7pm onwards

This meeting varies in times and dates, but for more information email the address below which redirects to the organisers. Latest info is usually posted to HackNUK and UK2600. Previous meetings have held tutorials on locks, mobile phones, VMB and PBX systems, and Unix hacking.

There's usually a turnout of around 15 - 20 people. Meetings start around 7, but there's usually someone there from around 6pm. Previous meetings have continued well into the night and onto the next morning, with info ranging from cellular hacks to cable television!

London

Location : Trocadero Shopping Centre (near Picadilly Circus) next to VR machines
Date : First Friday in every month
Time : 7pm onwards

What usually happens is we meet at the Basement betweeen 7 and 8pm, and from there we tend to go to some sort of food selling establishment. The one we go to depends on how we feel at the time. Generally you'll be able to tell who to look for as we stand right at the bottom of the downward escalator and try to (or rather do) look very normal. There's no need to look all shady and not bother to approach us, we don't bite! Aberdeen

Location : The Roaring Silence, Aberdeen
Date : First Friday in every month
Time : 5pm onwards
Due to friendship with a couple of HP folk at 'The Roaring Silence', the meeting place is now there. The shop is in Marischal Street, it's the green shop. There are PC's there which we can do stuff from.

Glasgow

Date : First Friday in every month
Time : 7pm onwards
Meet at 7pm - 7.30pm on first friday of the month, in the central station. The place to meet is next to the payfones next to PLATFORM 1..!!
