A birth certficate is no proof one way or the other of whether or not someone was adopted. My sister, 3 years older than I, was adopted. She came to our family nearly a year before I was born but was not legally adopted until she was 17 and I was 14. Until that time my certified birth certicicate stated that I was the first born child of my parents and my sister's listed her birth parents. After the adoption became legal we received new copies of our certificates. They now state that my sister was the first born child and that I was the 2nd child. There is no way to find out from a birth certificate whether or not an adoption took place or if Robert Lazar was born to his last name. Some readers may not be aware of this fact.
