Thank you very much for forwarding us your recent flame on the 
subject of <insert topic here>.  We regret that we cannot respond 
to your flame personally, due to the overwhelming volume we 
receive.

Unfortunately, only a limited number of examples can be published 
in our Flame of the Month column in the Groom Lake Desert Rat.  
Due to the large number of excellent entries, it appears that we 
will not be able to include yours in the coming issue.  
Competition for this position has been intense, and we can only 
give space to flames that are in some way unique, timely or that 
capture some essential human quality--either of the newsletter, 
the flamer or society at large.  While your message on this 
subject was certainly well-written, it lacked the passion, energy 
or insightfulness of some of the others we have recently received.  
We also give preference to flames whose authors identify 
themselves, so if yours was one of the many anonymous complaints 
we received, you should consider signing your name to any future 
critiques.

Although we have no immediate use for your flame at present, we 
will continue to keep it on file.  Should an opening arise, we 
will certainly give it full consideration.
