From: cyronwode@aol.com (Cyronwode) Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy.area51 Subject: Re: Desert Rat No Longer Posted Date: 14 Dec 1995 13:56:16 -0500 I'm sorry to see that the DR will no longer appear in usenet form. I will miss it. I am not flaming anyone nor taking sides with anyone (cf. two previous posts in this thread, especially Glenn's "flame du jour" response-o-gram) -- but i too have noticed that Glenn talks more about FOOD now than he used to. It's "buffet" this and "Big Mac" that until one's head spins. Being a thin person myself (kinda like a little Schwa, so to speak), i find all these ramblings about gustatorialism to be distracting and they lead me to wonder if the erswhile trimly athletic Cammo Cambell is going into full midlife midriff mode. Not that tubbies can't work to uncover the hidden truths or lacks thereof behind non-existent airbases in the middle of no where, but they may have a difficult time keeping up on those strenuous hikes to wherever it is one hikes to. On the other hand, i may be entirely off-base here (well, aren't we all, come to think of it) and the hungry Cambell may simply need more calories than do the rest of us mortals, due to his inordinate burning of same while hiking to Hungaria and home. Anyway, so long, Desert Rat... It was fun. (No, i won't be reading the WWW version -- it takes to long (i.e. costs too much money in connection time to peruse or to download.) Did i ever pay Cambell a cent? Nope. Did i suffer guilt about that? Nope. As Cambell feels about those large Las Vegas buffets, so i feel about usenet. It's there; i'll ingest it; food for thought.)
