From: psychospy@aol.com (PsychoSpy) Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy.area51 Subject: Area 51 to be on "Inside Edition" Dec. 15 Date: 13 Dec 1995 22:49:10 -0500 "Inside Edition" (syndicated TV show) is expected to run a segment on Area 51 and the movie "Independence Day" on Dec. 15 (Friday). (Subject to change, of course.) Nothing new expected about the base itself. Glenn Campbell will provide usual sound bites from the border. More interesting will be reports that the government tried to discourage the producers of the movie from using the name "Area 51" in it. "Independence Day" is basically a big budget remake of "War of the Worlds." About a third of the movie takes place at Area 51. Stars Jeff Goldblum, Will Smith, Brent Spiner... and Bill Pullman as the President of the United States--who takes to the air as the pilot of a jet fighter in the denouement. We have read the script and it sucks big time--but epicly and without knuckling under to any government authority. "Independence Day" is scheduled for release on Independence Day 1996. (More in a future edition of Groom Lake Desert Rat.) The "Inside Edition" report will include scenes from the movie's trailer. There seems to be no particular reason the report is airing now. Must be a slow news day. ================================= Area 51 Reseach Center, Las Vegas http://www.cris.com/~psyspy [Date and spelling corrections made to original post.--GC, 12/14/95]
