Exploit Requirements: I have reproduced this exploit for nearly a year using a Samsung N-150 & Telus' PAY & TALK service, it's quite simple really, and I was baffled when I stumbled across it. I'm not sure if this will work with any other model Telus offers, but if you discover it does with your phone, please let me know (e-mail below) and I'll update this document. Anyone out there who has a PAY & TALK account knows you can get Free Evenings & Weekends for a $25 card for 1 month, honestly I think this is the best/smartest thing Telus has offered EVER (not saying Telus is good or anything). Of course, maybe that's just because it allows me to do such wicked things as this. This 'sploit is only reasonable for you to use if you use the Evenings & Weekends feature and NOTHING else, other than that it won't work. Top up your account with a $25 card and then a $10 card (giving you $35 at the cost per minute the $25 card does, incase you decide to use the minutes for more than the exploit). Put the $25 on as evenings and weekends as you would normally. Now launch your phones browser and start using Telus's Surf Sampler. Enjoy the web for a while, but before your account is empty (or if you want to save some for talk-time, do it sooner) visit some important sites and BOOK MARK them in your phones browser. A good suggestion would be a site where you can reach most of the internet, such as GOOGLE. Once you have some sites bookmarked, feel free to empty off your account. Now, here's the trick. Once your account is empty, and you try to use WAP on it. You'll get some message about your account being empty, open your browsers menu and visit one of your bookmarks, you will be able to bypass Telus's WML gateway and have free reign on the Wireless Web. Theres a few things to keep in mind. First, Telus seems to erase bookmarks after a few days, so KEEP BOOKMARKING your sites if you don't want to spend more money. Second, I find the bookmarks stick around longer if they come from your browsers cache and not from Telus, so try to keep the browser from loading its bookmarks. YMMV. This is tried and tested for almost a year with my cellphone.
