Telus "Speeding Ticket" Promotion Wins Bonehead Award

  Today's second bonehead award goes to Telus Corporation which was not 
  too swift with their idea of sending people an advertisement in an 
  envelope marked only  ''Speeding ticket - Open Immediately.''

  What was actually in the envelope was an advertisement for their high 
  speed Internet service.  But many people were really riled at having 
  their anxiety levels momentarily raised, believing they were 
  receiving a real speeding ticket.  Numerous phone calls were made to 
  the company shortly after the ads started hitting mail boxes.

  The company stopped mailing the ads after 11,000 went out and they 
  have destroyed the remaining 23,000 advertisements.
