In cooperation with NIPC the FBI will soon rollout InfraGuard, a network
for providing information about attacks and how to avoid them. Members
of the network will be linked by the FBIs secure "Alert Network" so that
anonymous reports of attacks can be sent to the FBI and other members.
(Hmmm, we wonder how an encrypted VPN can be anonymous? We sure hope
they share the information they gather with non members. Although by the
time they do it will probably be old news anyway.)

A fairly new algorithm, created by Bruce Schneier, uses the seemingly low
tech method of a deck of cards. It is a output-feedback mode stream
cipher. The most interesting part is that you don't even need to have a
computer to use it. Since this is new no one has found any weaknesses, so
you cipher heads have the chance to try and punch a hole in it.
