Disney wants exemption from Anti-Porn bill

In what seems to be an very ironic twist Disney wants the wording of the
Child Online Protection Act (CDA II) to be changed so that it is free to show porn
to anyone. (Ed. That conjurns up some wierd mental images of Mickey.)

A story we first reported on Octrober 1st a group of German Net users known as Dark Breed are calling on all
Germans to Boycott the Interet on November 1st. Similar to a Spanish
effort earlier this year that resulted in a 60% drop in Internet tariffs.

The EFF has threatened to sue if the Child Online Protection Act (aka. CDA II) passes into law. Somehow I don't think Congress really cares but at least someone is taking a stand.

We reported on this last week but the Presidential decree requiring all
federal agencies to ensure that all software used by that agency is legal
was only signed yesterday. "Today, we are declaring war on software
piracy," Vice President Al Gore said in a statement yesterday.
