"Strong Crypto for All!" Finland says. Finland currently has absolutely no
restrictions on cryptography. Granted I don't live in Finland but this sure makes the US export control policy look really dumb.

Formula Virri cross the Pacific

The Information Promotion Association (IPA) said that for the month of October there where 136 computer virus incidents in Japan. The report also indicated that a formula virus, "XF/Paix", had made its way for the first
time into Japan. A formula virus differs from a Macro Virus in that it attaches itself to the arithmetic formula area inside Microsoft Excel files.
