Mitnick's trial has been pushed back three months until April 20th, 1999 from January 19th by U.S. District Judge Mariana Pfaelzer. Mitnick's lawyers have requested this delay so as to go over the voluminous amount of evidence against Kevin Mitnick.

A giant leap backwards as the good ol' USA leads the totalitarian charge against strong encryption on a global level. The USA has gotten 33 countries including Japan, Germany, and Britain, to sign the Wassenaar Arrangement that will limit arms exports and
impose controls on data-scrambling technologies including mass market software.
