Teach Unix in High School instead of Windows
|

contributed by Weld Pond
It makes a lot of sense to teach unix in High School instead of windows.
With windows people just learn how to 'operate' a computer not how it
works. This is appropriate for a vocational but not an academic
environment. We teach how to do math not how to operate and HP-83. Why
don't we do the same with computers.

Today ( December 22th ) the ECD ( Electronic Civil Disobedience) at
http://www.thing.net/~rdom/ecd/ecd.html starts an action against the
Mexican
Stockexchange. A statement is available at
http://www.thing.net/~rdom/ecd/december22.html and the the
ZapsTacticalFloodnet-Interface runs at
http://www.thing.net/~rdom/zapsTactical/zaps.html .
The browser-settings need to be modified like described in the
instructions,
then the ZapsTacticalFloodnet-Interface will contact some URLs of the
Mexican
Stockexchange and floods their error-logs with messages by reloading
non-existing files.
You may contact the ECD by e-mail: rdom@thing.net and sjw210@is8.nyu.edu
