For this phase I implementation of NEWnet, the network will employ 1200 baud AX.25 packet radio on the Multiple Use Radio Service (MURS).
MURS is allocated the following frequencies (with NEWNET freq assignments):

151.82 - Secondary Digital Operations
151.88 - Voice Operations/Calling, PL 123.0 hz.
151.94 - *** Primary Packet Operations
154.57 - Unassigned
154.60 - Unassigned

Callsigns will be in the format of: IIZZZ, where:
II - Operators initials or other identifier
ZZZZ - First four numbers of station location zip code
