Why The Media Push For Twitter?

Suddenly every media story from Iran's elections, to Michael Jackson, mentions 'Twitter'. The same thing happened with EBAY, Starbucks, etc., where free publicity was everywhere. Maybe it has to do with who will be the beneficiary.

Isaac Stone is the founder and Creative Director of Twitter, Inc and also helped to create and launch Xanga, Blogger, Odeo, and Obvious. He has published two books about blogging, Blogging: Genius Strategies for Instant Web Content (New Riders, 2002) and Who Let The Blogs Out? (St Martins, 2004). Jack Dorsey and Stone wrote Twitter's prototype in about two weeks. Stone is Jewish, and a resident of Berkeley, California.  6

In total, Twitter has raised over US$57 million from venture capitalists. The Zio-BS artists say that in four years Twitter will have revenues of $1.54 billion, and naturally they will take the company public. That means Isaac Stone, and his Venture Capitalists, will walk away with billions from pension plan investors. 9
