PSI TECH's comment to Jim Schnabel

re: An American Hero

11/96

Dear Jim,

I have read your articles, "The Truth about David Morehouse & Psychic Warrior." which were dated Nov.7, 1996. I would like to address your continuing exposure of the Dames\Morehouse relationship. You have cited Major Ed Dames' friendship with Dave Morehouse in the earlier days flagrantly, however, you have blantantly misrepresented their relationship during the latter days, by virtue of omission of pertinent facts.

Beginning late 1993, after Ed had worked with Jim Marrs for nearly one year on their book, Ed discovered that Sandra Martin and Dave Morehouse were collaborating to rewrite the Jim Marrs book about Ed, in order to transpose Dave Morehouse into Ed's role. Ed was approached by Jim Marrs in 1992. The book proposal (and ultimate story sold) submitted to Random House was based solely on The Ed Dames Story which included only a mere mention of Morehouse, as one of the RV unit members. (I am forwarding that proposal on to you.) Ed Dames stopped the printing of this book by (legally) alerting Random House to the fact that the Jim Marrs story, they were about to print was not only "completely untrue at that point" but "it no longer reflected the intent of the original book proposal which they had bought." Similarly, the reasons that 20/20 and 60 minutes did not go forward with their stories; due to discovering the many Morehouse lies.

In late 1993, when Ed began to suspect the ominous nature of his "so called buddy" Dave Morehouse, he immediately dropped all potential business with him. In 1994, Morehouses lawyer, came to Los Angeles to solicit support from Ed for Morehouses court marshall defense. It was during that meeting, that Ed really found out "the truth" about Morehouses extensive deceptive behavior and the gravity of the court Marshall charges. Since those revelations, Ed not only cut off all communication with Morehouse, but he also, privately and publicly denounced him. As you will recall, you had wanted Dave Morehouse to appear in your documentary, The Real X-Files, but Ed Dames made his interview contingent upon you not including Morehouse in that program. In your on going depiction of events, you have opportunistically exposed Major Dames friendship to Dave Morehouse, while conspicuously omitting the fact, that Ed Dames had fallen victim to Morehouses machinations, resulting in, a bitter termination of all of their mutual dealings.

A pattern of strategic story telling is emerging evident in your writings. In the narration of The Real X-Files, you fail to mention, that part of your Remote Viewing training (after Ingo) was under the tutelage of Ed Dames (PSI TECH has files filled with your work from class). Additionally, you went out of your way to interview Major Dames' X-wife, designing an impression that they were currently undergoing a split due to his unconventional ways, when in fact, you knew that they had been legally separated for many years at that point. The split having very little to do with Major Dames Remote Viewing assignment.

Finally and most importantly, you have displayed a pattern of magnifying Ed Dames interests in anomalies, while deliberately minimizing his outstanding military record. The many scientific and technical accomplishments in INSCOM and the DIA, for which he received numerous accolades, including The Legion of Merit.

In crediting yourself as a "science writer" depicting the factual events, I hope that you have not been too influenced by those on the periphery, who have quite different agendas.

Sincerely,

J. Dourif

Vice president
