Utah Ritual Abuse Committee Workshop

Announcing: 2002 Workshop II
West Valley City, Utah
Saturday, April 13, 2002

This workshop has been designed to break the silence regarding ritual abuse, bringing survivors and friends together in an atmosphere of care and learning. It is the second of four quarterly workshops to be held in 2002.

2002 Workshop II
Saturday, April 13th
10am-1pm
Registration begins at 9:30am

West Valley City, Utah
Country Inn & Suites
3422 S. Decker Lake Drive

Healthy Boundaries - Charissa Ruud, MSW, CSW So what are they and where do we find them? Healthy boundaries help create healthy relationships. Why do abuse survivors have such a difficult time understanding boundaries? Here is some expert advice.

Choosing the Right Therapist - Marilyn Jones, RN, MS, LCP It's important to know what qualities to look for in a therapist. It's also important to know when it's time to move on. Find out how to make those important decisions while working through recovery.

Discussion Groups - Facilitators Attendees are welcome to participate in this optional activity. Small discussion groups will be formed to talk about topics of interest to survivors, professionals and support people.

Workshop subject matter may be triggering. Speakers will strive to educate rather than overwhelm. Due to the nature of ritual abuse, however, some portions may be difficult. Survivors are asked to consider their safety needs and bring a supportive friend with them if deemed necessary.

Free literature will be provided. New and used books on abuse, self-help and recovery topics will be available for sale.

While individual survivors may choose to pursue their cases criminally and/or civilly, it is not our purpose to identify perpetrators or investigate ritual crimes. Mr. Light & Associates, Inc. is a non-profit organization created to advocate for survivors of severe childhood trauma and educate professional service providers on the issues that surround childhood ritual abuse.
