Wetware hacking : Fingerprints -nutter 4/13/2004 Introduction; Biometrics, while relatively new, have various flaws. If you damaged your finger and need a print to access your computer/files/whatever because you were silly enough to buy a fingerprint scanner, this text is for you. Props to my pal who would like to remain anonymous. I have not tried his technique, but he has had much success. Inspired by the movie gattaca, if you haven't seen it, rent it now! Ingredients; -cocoa -soft paint brush -Scotch brand Magic Tape -98 brightness white printer paper(should be able to skimp) -acetate(transparency) for your printer -photosensitive coated copper clad board+ferric chloride -liquid latex Technique; First you need to find a clean print to lift, if noone has used your scanner, you have a clean print right there. Sprinkle the cocoa very lightly above the fingerprint from a distance. Brush away loose cocoa with the brush, then pick it up with the magic tape.Scotchs magic tape is made to be invisible when scanning or photocopying, so don't substitute. Stick the tape to the paper. Scan and tweak it for clarity, then print it on the transparency, marking it with the letter e so you can easily see which side is the mirror. Do this in your bathroom, blocking out all light except for some red LED lights as a light source. Cut out the fingerprint and tape it to the board, then expose it to a light source as necessary, then bathe it in the ferric chloride solution, keeping close watch. Rinse the board off and inspect the quality of the negative. Use a thin layer of liquid latex, make sure it has dried completely before peeling it off. Now you can use some clear 2 sided tape or other adhesion method, and stick it to your finger. Before testing it, huff a lung of carbon dioxide on it. If this process is done properly, the success rate should be 100%! Next you might try tackling a palm print! \ / \/ nutter /\ / \ shouts to hackcanada.com and nettwerked.net EOF
