As Barack Obama's candidacy comes under increasing scrutiny, his
account of his religious upbringing deserves careful attention for what
it tells us about the candidate's integrity.
Obama asserted in December, "I've always been a Christian," and he has
adamantly denied ever having been a Muslim. "The only connection
I've had to Islam is that my grandfather on my father's side came from
that country [Kenya]. But I've never practiced Islam." In
February, he claimed: "I have never been a Muslim. … other than my
name and the fact that I lived in a populous Muslim country for 4 years
when I was a child [Indonesia, 1967-71] I have very little connection to
the Islamic religion."
"Always" and "never" leave little room for equivocation. But many
biographical facts, culled mainly from the American press, suggest that,
when growing up, the Democratic candidate for president both saw himself
and was seen as a Muslim.

Beyond the visits to his Muslim relatives in Africa, Obama had little to
say about Islam and Muslims until the events of 9/11. After that
date, Obama begins to become more public in his support of Muslims and
their cause.

Obama is protective of
civil rights for Muslims in the U.S.,
saying, "In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani
Americans have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and
FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense
of security and belonging," he laments. "I will stand with them

Barack Hussein Obama
said the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on
Earth."
In an interview with Nicholas Kristof, published in The New York Times, Obama recited the
Muslim call to prayer, the Adhan, "with a
first-class [Arabic] accent."
The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is
the Shahada:
"Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet... "
According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim
declaration of faith,
makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement
expresses a Muslim's complete acceptance of, and total commitment to,
the message of Islam.
Obama knows this from his Quranic studies -- and he knows the New York
Times will publish this fact and it will be seen throughout the Islamic world.
Regardless of Obama's religion, what message is he sending the
world's 1.2 billion Muslims?
I suppose it's easy for Obama to remember the Shahada for the 35 years
since he left Indonesia -- and in 'first-class' Arabic -- especially
since he believes the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest
sounds on Earth."
The fact that Obama can recall the Shahada after 35 years and the fact
that he believes that the daily call to prayer is "one of the prettiest
sounds on Earth" say that those Muslim prayers run through his head
often -- what does that make him?

In an
interview with the New York Times, Maya
Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s younger half sister, told the Times, "My whole

I assume Maya thinks of her brother, Obama, as a member of her family?
Although Anna Dunham is often described as an atheist, I assume Maya thinks of
her mother as a member of her family, as well.
How else would one interpret that statement?

Obama
told a French magazine in an interview that if he wins office, he
will hold a summit with Muslim countries to better the United States'

all the heads of state, to have an honest discussion about ways to
bridge the gap that grows every day between Muslims and the West."

Firas Ahmad comments on "Our Obama Problem" at
altmuslim.com.
"But for many reasons, Muslims are one constituency Obama does not want
to court. With a wink and a nod, Obama's Muslim supporters
continue to work for a candidate who cannot afford to wink back at them.
Given his perceived "closeness" to Islam, and the fact that he shares a
name with a former Iraqi dictator, it could be strategic suicide for the
Obama campaign to vocally acknowledge organized Muslim support. At
a time when endorsements are worn like badges of honor, no major
candidate is looking for the Muslim vote."
Falsehoods told to prevent the denigration of Islam, to protect
oneself, or to promote the cause of Islam are sanctioned in the Qur’an
and Sunna, including lying under oath in testimony before a court, and
deceiving by making distorted statements to the media such as the claim
that Islam is a "religion of peace." A Muslim is even permitted to
deny or denounce his faith if, in so doing, he protects or furthers the
interests of Islam, so long as he remains faithful to Islam in his
heart.
Like many Islamic practices,
taqiyya was formed within the context of
the culture of Arab tribalism, expansionary warfare, Bedouin raiding and
inter-tribal conflict. Taqiyya has been used by Muslims since the 7th
century to confuse, confound and divide "the enemy."

Most Arab-Americans
support Obama and many feel a kinship with the Democrat, who they
say can repair America's reputation abroad.
"The American image in the outside world has been damaged, and we want
someone who will reach out to others and say, 'Let's sit at the table
and talk,'" said Saleh Mubarak, who emigrated from Syria in 1981.
"That's what attracted me to Obama. He said, 'I will sit with
Iran, I will sit with anyone.'"
"The biography, the empathy factor, they feel Obama understands the
community," said James Zogby, a senior analyst for Zogby International
and founder and president of the Arab American Institute, a Washington,
D.C., organization that researches politics and policy in the
Arab-American community.
Arab-Americans also remember a line in Obama's speech at the 2004
Democratic National Convention, "If there's an Arab-American family
being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that
threatens my civil liberties."

Whose Fault Is It? The Barack Hussein Obama flap,
that is. Who was the one who started this mess? Which
bigoted, anti-Islamic right wing nutjob was responsible for initially
using Barack’s incendiary middle name as a clever political device?
Sometime before Barack Obama’s middle name slipped into the realm of the
unmentionable, it was supposed to be a selling point of his candidacy.
"Well, I think if you’ve got a guy named Barack Hussein Obama, that’s a
pretty good contrast to George W. Bush," Mr. Obama told PBS’s Tavis
Smiley on October 18, 2007. "If you believe that we’ve got to heal
America and we’ve got to repair our standing in the world, then I think
my supporters believe that I am the messenger who can deliver that
message."
Somehow, that was supposed to make him better than George W. Bush, but
seeing as George W. Bush’s middle name is actually "Walker," as in
Walker, Texas Ranger, it's hard to make that argument with a straight
face. Walker beats Hussein hands down. In fact, if he could
have beat the real Hussein, he probably would have, except that our
government preferred that Saddam go down after a fight, not with a clean
blow to the jugular.
We think this means his name is now fair game for anyone.

Was Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King on the mark last week
when he asserted Islamic terrorists would rejoice if Obama becomes the
next U.S. president?
What do the terrorists think about these policies? Well, journalist,
Aaron Klein, recently
asked
them:
Ramadan Adassi, leader of the Al Aqsa Brigades terror group in the West
Bank's Anskar refugee camp, pointed to Obama's rise to stardom as "an
important success. He won popularity in spite of the Zionists and
the conservatives."
Abu Hamed, leader of the Al Aqsa Brigades in the northern Gaza Strip,
explained the Democrat candidates' anti-war positions "prove that
important leaders are understanding the situation differently and are
understanding the price and the consequences of the American policy in
Iraq and in the world."
Muhammad Saadi, a senior leader of Islamic Jihad in the northern West
Bank town of Jenin, said talk of withdrawal from Iraq makes him feel
"proud."
"As Arabs and Muslims we feel proud of this talk," he told me for my
book. "Very proud from the great successes of the Iraqi
resistance. This success that brought the big superpower of the
world to discuss a possible withdrawal."
Abu Abdullah, a leader of Hamas' military wing in the Gaza Strip, was
more direct: The policy of withdrawal, he stated, "proves the strategy
of the resistance is the right strategy against the occupation."
What about dialogue with America's enemies, such as sit-downs with
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Obama has so fervently
advocated?
Muhammad Abdel-Al, spokesperson and a senior leader of the Popular
Resistance Committees terror group, recently explained to me U.S.
willingness to negotiate and initiate dialogue "shows the Islamic
resistance is bringing the giant [America] to is knees."
"It would be a great achievement complemented by more and more dead
American soldiers they will carry in coffins to the U.S.," said Abdel-Al.

A different relationship with Israel: key to Middle East peace
By Tony Wicher - Feb 16th, 2007 at 11:09 am EST
The current treatment of the Palestinians is worse than South African
apartheid ever was -- it combines the worst features of apartheid and
military occupation. The purpose of it is simply to drive the
Palestinians out. There has never been any serious intention of
allowing a Palestinian state. Israel is the product of a 19th
century ideology, Zionism, that combines good old-fashioned colonialism
with good old-fashioned segregationism. In the time of Theodore
Herzl this was considered normal, but times have changed. Israel
will not be able to complete the colonial project. It will have to
make an accommodation with the Palestinians. But a Palestinian
state is not the way. The "Green line,"”, the 1967 line, etc. must
be regarded as temporary armistice lines. They cannot be the basis
for a permanent political settlement. The only way to settle this
conflict is reunification, not partition. Israelis and
Palestinians must agree to live together as equal citizens in a
democratic state -- whether they like it or not. There is no real
alternative, other than endless war.
The treatment of the Palestinians by Israelis is the number one cause
and justification for terrorism. As long as it goes on the
terrorists can justly claim moral equivalence. As long as the
United States continues with its current unqualified support of Israel
and Israeli apartheid, it makes itself the object of terrorism as well.
This must stop. Only the United States can make Israel do the
right thing. The next U.S. administration must understand that
this is the key to Middle East peace and to defeating terrorism.
Outside this mosque (see photo at link) in Anaheim, California (State
College Drive) we finally got definitive evidence of two things:
1. Word has been out in the Islamic community worldwide for some time
(specially Indonesia and Malaysia) to begin overt support for Obama.
2. We heard rumors of the Islamic Republic of Iran also passing the word
to their American agents and clerics to support Obama but had nothing
tangible till now.
3. The photo above was taken during the last week of March, 2008 by an
AntiMullah person who happened to see this woman and was delighted to
have a camera on hand.
4. Don't be misled by there only being one person. Mosques have
been told to get the message across effectively rather than to hold
demonstrations, since there was no protest involved where numbers rather
than a "bilingual" sign become important.
Note the "bilingual" aspect uses English lettering for Persian (not
Arabic) words to reach a broader audience than writing it in Farsi
(Persian) fonts.

Tom Bevan expresses puzzlement over a passage of the
keynote speech given by Minnesota Fifth District Rep. Keith
Ellison at the Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium this past
weekend in Illinois. According to a
report of his speech, Ellison touted the virtues of
Islamic illumination for an enlightened understanding of
current events:
Ellison went on to say if more people knew of what
Islam had to teach, the controversy created by
statements from presidential candidate Barack Obama's
former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, might not have
occurred.
Without more in the way of a direct quotation, it would be
imprudent to make too much of this passage. But it's
interesting to see Ellison speaking on events related to the
Obama campaign. In
"Louis Farrakhan's first Congressman," I took a look at
Ellison's troubling public record and past associations
before his election to Congress. Ellison's record and
associations previewed similar issues that have begun to
emerge in the course of Obama's campaign.

A group of young men in Gaza gather before each primary in support
of Senator Barack Obama. These well-dressed young men, looking
vastly different from the street photos of the poor and depressed we
usually see, meet in an internet cafe and make random phone calls to
American voters, urging a vote for Obama. They believe he can
bring peace to the Middle East.
And, who is paying for these phone calls and for the
online-time? And when was the last time Gazans were involved in
American politics?

Welcome to Obama Youth, a
website for young supporters of Barack Obama. The purpose of this
site is to provide both individuals and groups a central place to share
ideas, locate resources, organize events and communicate about
supporting the candidacy of Senator Obama. While many of us may not yet
be old enough to vote, we still have the ability to make a difference,
spread the word, and shape Obama's platform.
Why do you think the Islamic crescent was chosen by this
organization to symbolize "Obama Youth?"
And be sure to watch the short video (at link) that calls for the end of the
"useless war."

It was a celebration of Palestinian culture -- a night
of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans
were bidding farewell to
Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel
and PLO operative, who was leaving town for a job in New York.
A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner
companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the
crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona,
and conversations that had challenged his thinking.
Obama's presence at such events, as he worked to build a political base
in Chicago, has led some Palestinian leaders to believe that he might
deal differently with the Middle East than either of his opponents for
the White House.
"I am confident that Barack Obama is more sympathetic to the position of
ending the occupation than either of the other candidates," said Hussein
Ibish, a senior fellow for the American Task Force on Palestine,
referring to the Israeli presence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip that
began after the 1967 war. More than his rivals for the White
House, Ibish said, Obama sees a "moral imperative" in resolving the
conflict and is most likely to apply pressure to both sides to make
concessions.
"That's my personal opinion," Ibish said, "and I think it for a very
large number of circumstantial reasons, and what he's said."

Obama: Al-Qaeda is not -- where?
Barack Obama
has a problem when he gets off script. In Gary, Indiana,
Obama wants to make the point that al-Qaeda needs to be pursued, but in
Pakistan. Unfortunately, Obama almost makes a big mistake, and the
walk-back isn’t exactly effective:
Note the problem Obama creates for himself in this stumble. He
stopped just short of saying that al-Qaeda isn’t in Iraq. He
wanted to say it, but he stopped himself, and for good reason --
al-Qaeda is in Iraq. Saying otherwise would have made him look
ill-informed, and he knows it. He corrects himself to say that AQ
senior leadership isn’t in Iraq.
Given that, and given his buildup of warning how great a strategic
danger AQ presents to the US, then why does Obama want to retreat from
Iraq? We’re trying to take down the whole network. An
effective strategy would have us fighting them in Iraq and in the
Pakistan/Afghanistan theater -- which we’re doing now. We managed
to fight two wars simultaneously in 1941-1945 on much larger scales than
we face today. If he can’t walk and chew gum at the same time,
should he really be Commander in Chief? (via

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said on Friday
it was not his place to criticize former President Jimmy Carter if
he were to meet with Hamas.

While Sen. Barack Obama sought to improve his relationship with the
Jewish community today by meeting with leaders Philadelphia, comments by
a Hamas political adviser this weekend could potentially hurt the
Democratic presidential candidate.
During an interview on WABC radio Sunday, top Hamas political adviser
Ahmed Yousef said the terrorist group
supports Obama’s foreign policy vision.
"We don’t mind -- actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will
(win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great
man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make
it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and
arrogance," Yousef said in response to a question about the group’s
willingness to meet with either of the Democratic presidential
candidates.

Democratic White House contender Barack Obama could not hide
his irritation Monday when asked by a reporter what he thought about
former president Jimmy Carter's meeting with Hamas last week.
"Why can't I just eat my waffle?" the Illinois senator said as he ate
breakfast in Scranton, Pennsylvania, according to MSNBC television
pictures.
Pressed again for an answer, he replied: "Just let me eat my waffle."
Adding insult to...insult, a fellow customer of the Glider Diner in
Scranton has put Obama's waffle plate -- the one on which he was focused
when rudely interrupted by reporters --

Two years ago, Hatem El-Hady was the chairman of the Toledo,
Ohio-based Islamic charity,
Kindhearts, which was
closed by the
US government in February 2006 for terrorist fundraising and all its
assets frozen. Today, El-Hady has redirected his fundraising
efforts for his newest cause -- Barack Obama for President.
El-Hady has his own
dedicated page on Barack Obama's official website, chronicling his
fundraising on behalf of the Democratic Party presidential candidate.
Not only that, but he has none other than Barack Obama's wife, Michelle
Obama, listed as one of his friends and one of
her 224 listed friends.
But his leadership of Kindhearts is not the only thing that has brought
him scrutiny by federal law enforcement officials. Last summer,
El-Hady was questioned by the FBI concerning his knowledge of possible
conspirators in a UK-based terror plot.
The Department of Justice had a very
different
version of events. According to the DOJ, Kindhearts assumed the role
of lead terrorist fundraising in the US after the government had closed
other such Islamic "charities."
"KindHearts is the progeny of Holy Land Foundation and Global Relief
Foundation, which attempted to mask their support for terrorism behind
the façade of charitable giving," said Stuart Levey, Treasury Under
Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
Not only was Kindhearts engaged in providing funds for HAMAS in Lebanon
and the West Bank, it had hired as a fundraising specialist the man
identified as the designated HAMAS bag man in the US, Mohammed El-Mezain.
And as investigative reporter Joe Kaufman revealed in "The
Black Hearts of Kindhearts," a number of other Kindhearts officials
were tied to terrorist fundraising and support, as well.
Not any more -- the Obamalytes have removed her name from
Hatem's friend's list -- busy little beavers are scrubbing away at the
web. --
Update:
Now the entire page has disappeared????
Commenting on the Iranian preference for a Democrat in the White House,
Sergei Barseghian, a columnist for the reformist Etemad Meli newspaper
noted that in Farsi, the words "Oo ba ma" would translate as
"He's with us."
The sympathy his candidacy has aroused among many Iranians stems from a
variety of factors, including his African heritage, his Muslim
family ties, and a belief that Obama would move to end Washington's
30-year Cold War with Tehran -- or at least reduce the prospect of a
U.S. military attack on the Islamic Republic. "I think people want
him to win," said Shi'ite cleric Mehdi Karroubi, the reformist former
parliament speaker defeated by Ahmadinejad in Iran's 2005 presidential
contest.
It's Obama's declared willingness to engage in "aggressive personal
diplomacy" with the Iranian leadership that has generated the most
interest among senior officials in Tehran.
"Obama is a man of engagement, a man of negotiations," one Iranian
official said. Amir Mohebbian, an analyst close to Iranian
conservative politicians, argues that "the mentality of Iranian decision
makers is ready for that."

Yesterday's
blogger call with John McCain contained a remarkable exchange in
which McCain, noting the fact that Hamas has endorsed Obama for
President, said:
"It's very clear who Hamas wants to be the next president of the
United States. So apparently has Danny Ortega and several others.
I think that people should understand that I will be Hamas's worst
nightmare.... If senator Obama is favored by Hamas I think people
can make judgments accordingly."

May 4th -- On "Meet the Press" this morning Obama
mistook
Iran for Israel when talking about defending them against an Iranian
attack.
He said, "Israel is an ally of ours, it's the most important ally we
have in the region and there is no doubt that we would act forcefully
and appropriately on any attack against Iran, nuclear or
otherwise"

It's no surprise that
the media are in the tank for Barack Obama,
but the willingness of the New York Times to simply misrepresent the
facts -- while pretending to act as a fact-checker! -- is pretty
breathtaking. You may think the Times is an outlier, if not a joke, but
I suspect that many more news outlets are prepared to follow the Times'
lead in flat-out misreporting the facts, if that's what it takes to get
Obama elected.
The Times story is "On McCain, Obama and a Hamas Link." It takes John
McCain to task for pointing out that Hamas has endorsed Obama. The Times
reporter, Larry Rohter, says that John McCain has "again portrayed the
Democratic contender as being the favorite of Hamas, the militant
Palestinian group." Of course, this is not McCain's "portrayal;" it is
an indisputable fact that Hamas has endorsed Obama and has said that it
hopes he will be elected. But the paper's most egregious error, in its
campaign "fact check" column, is yet to come.
Rohter notes that charges and counter-charges have gone back and forth
between the McCain and Obama campaigns, but Rohter judges that McCain is
mostly at fault:
But important nuances appear to have been lost in the partisan salvos,
particularly on Mr. McCain’s side.
McCain, Rohter writes, is guilty because he says that Obama has
advocated "unconditional" meetings with Iran's President:
[I]n a fund-raising letter sent out in April, a spokesman for Mr. McCain
wrote: "We need change in America, but not the kind of change that wins
kind words from Hamas, surrenders in Iraq and will hold unconditional
talks with Iranian President Ahmadinejad."
That, the Times says, is wrong.
But, who you gonna believe -- well, here's the video -- is the Times lying --
is Obama's Campaign lying -- you decide.
Not good enough? How about the fact that Obama's web site
contains this statement:
Diplomacy: Obama is the only major candidate who
supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without
preconditions.
After relentlessly labeling anyone who brings up the issue of Barack
Obama’s Muslim origins as a bigot, a racist, or a lunatic, suddenly this
morning the New York Times publishes an op-ed that actually admits Obama
was born a Muslim -- and that it might cause serious problems in an
Obama presidency.
5/14/08
PowerLine blog
observes that Obama and his legion of supporters in the MSM may not
like the fact that Hamas supports his candidacy, or that John McCain and
his supporters mention this fact. But it's not difficult to understand
why Hamas favors Obama. Consider this statement by Obama regarding
Lebanon:
"This effort to undermine Lebanon’s elected government needs to stop,
and all those who have influence with Hezbollah must press them to stand
down immediately. . . It’s time to engage in diplomatic efforts to help
build a new Lebanese consensus that focuses on electoral reform, an end
to the current corrupt patronage system, and the development of the
economy that provides for a fair distribution of services, opportunities
and employment."
The naivety of this statement is staggering. As Noah Pollak asks: "Does
Obama understand that the people who 'have influence with Hezbollah'
happen to be the same people on whose behalf Hezbollah is rampaging
through Lebanon?" And does he really believe that Hezbollah and its
sponsors can be pacified or neutralized by electoral reform, an end to
corrupt patronage, and "fair" distribution of services?
Obama may well fail to comprehend the first point and believe the
second, just as naive leftists of an earlier generation thought that Ho
Chi Minh was, at root, an agrarian reformer. In any case, Pollak is
correct that "Obama is rhetorically cornered; since his only
prescription for the Middle East is diplomatic engagement, every disease
gets re-diagnosed as something curable through talking."
No wonder he's Hamas' man.
5/17/08
John McCain, speaking in front of the National Rifle Association had
some advice for young Mr. Obama:
"I have some news for Senator Obama: talking, not even with soaring
rhetoric, (unconditional)... in unconditional meetings with a man who
calls Israel a 'stinking corpse,' and arms terrorists who kill
Americans, will not convince Iran to give up its nuclear programs."
"It is reckless, it is reckless to suggest that unconditional meetings
will advance our interests."
"You know, it would be a wonderful thing if we lived in a world where we
don’t have enemies. But that’s not the world we live in. And
until Senator Obama understands that reality, the American people have
every reason to doubt whether he has the strength, judgment, and
determination to keep us safe."
And wants to know why is this open anti-Semite and supporter of Israel's
annihilation getting to discuss "the Arab-Israeli conflict" in a
private, one-on-one meeting with Obama? What was said? I
think we can do the math.
Qazwini is an agent of the Iranian government, spreading its
propaganda. He was sent to the U.S. by Iran to help radicalize his
mosque, the Islamic Center of America, which -- at the time -- was
becoming moderate with women not covering their hair and mixing with
men. All that has changed, under Qazwini.
Qazwini is very open about his support for Palestinian homicide
bombings, HAMAS, and Hezbollah, and he's a good friend of Hezbollah
spiritual leader, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah -- the man who
issued the fatwa to Hezbollah terrorists to murder over 300 U.S. Marines
and U.S. Embassy civilians in cold blood. Qazwini's mosque has
held rallies and celebrations in support of Hezbollah, and many of
Hezbollah's biggest money-launderers and agents in America are his
congregants.
Hamas leader Ahmed Yousef has been quoted saying, "We like
Mr. Obama and we hope that he will win the election."
A controversy unfolded last month when Hamas political adviser Ahmed
Yousef told Aaron Klein, author of "Schmoozing with Terrorists," and
WABC radio, his group hopes Obama will win the presidential election and
change America's foreign policy.

Obama displays profound ignorance of asymmetric warfare.
By stating that Iran isn't a
threat because they spend much less on defense than the US, Obama displays a
complete ignorance of how asymmetric warfare operates. The AQ "defense
budget" for pulling off 9/11, was by comparison to the US, essentially zero.
An analysis of the Iranian order of battle and where they've been spending their
defense dollars over the past 10 years would show that they are a serious threat
in certain specific areas. They've been investing heavily in coastal
batteries, anti-ship missile systems, silent diesel electric subs, and such.
They could turn the narrow strait of Hormuz into an un-navigable scrap yard
faster than the US Navy could stop them or the US Air force could neutralize
those batteries and missiles.
Are the Iranians going to bomb NYC or invade Chicago? No. Can they
be a major pain in the ass to the rest of the world if they decided to
suicidally squeeze oil shipments through the straight? Absolutely!
A persistent questioner at a campaign stop Thursday grilled Barack Obama
on his ties to a professor with pro-Palestinian views, prompting Obama
to speak at some length against "guilt by association" and about his
support for the Jewish community.
The at-times heated exchange occurred during a town hall event held at a
synagogue in Boca Raton, Fla. The questioner focused on Obama’s
relationship to Rashid Khalidi, a professor of Arab studies at Columbia
University who has drawn fire for some of his criticisms of Israel.
Obama responded by saying he has met Khalidi and spoken with him in an
academic context, when Obama was teaching at the University of Chicago.
In the 1970s, when Khalidi taught at a university in Beirut, he often
spoke to reporters on behalf of Yasser Arafat's Palestine Liberation
Organization. In the early 1990s, he advised the Palestinian
delegation during peace negotiations. Khalidi now occupies a
prestigious professorship of Arab studies at Columbia
"He is not one of my advisers. He’s not one of my foreign policy
people," Obama said. "He is a respected scholar, although he
vehemently disagrees with a lot of Israel’s policy."
Obama then objected to the suggestion that his contacts with Khalidi
mean he shares Khalidi’s views.
"Part of my philosophy … is I believe in listening to people even when I
disagree with them," Obama said. "And part of the reason that the
Jewish community in Chicago is so close to me is because they know that
on many occasions I’ve spoken out vigorously against anti-Semitism, even
in my own community, even when it’s not convenient.
Yo! Obama, exactly when is anti-Semitism
convenient? When the media is absent? When it's just you,
Michelle, Wright and Farrakhan?

Is Iran gunning for a victory by presidential candidate Barack
Obama?
Despite the official line that it won’t make any difference who wins the
U.S. presidency (after all, they say, America is totally under the thumb
of "Zionists"), Iranians are watching the U.S. elections closely and
rooting for a victory by the Illinois senator, who has said he's willing
to agree to unconditional talks with Iran.
"I should say, he is a phenomenon, based on what he has said so far,"
Sadegh Kharazzi, a former Iranian diplomat squarely in the reformist
camp now out of power, said. "Unless he is drawn into traditional
Democratic Party ways, his election as a president will be welcomed in
Iran."
Wrote the conservative daily Hamshahri on May 7:
Obama has adopted the friendliest strategies regarding Iran, because he
believes that America should change its policy in dealing with Tehran,
while other candidates have more hostile policies.

On Wednesday, Obama, appearing in front of the American Israel
Public Affairs Committee,
said Jerusalem should be Israel's undivided capital, saying,
"Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain
undivided."
Well, on Thursday, Palestinian leaders reacted with anger and
dismay to this statement, so Obama immediately flip-flopped on his
support for Israel's stance on Jerusalem, saying Palestinians and
Israelis had to negotiate the future of the holy city.
Two positions in two days -- this guy is very confused -- and let's be
very clear about this -- under pressure from Palestinians and
terrorists, Obama caved in on one of Israel's most fundamental issues.
Not a good sign for those meetings with
Ahmadinejad that Obama keeps talking about.

I almost don't believe what I just read in The New York Times -- and
from Thomas Friedman, no less:
"This column will probably get Barack Obama in trouble, but that’s not
my problem. I cannot tell a lie: Many Egyptians and other Arab Muslims
really like him and hope that he wins the presidency."
The MEMRI Blog
reports
that an editorial, the Saudi paper Al-Watan stated that U.S. Democratic
presidential candidate Barack Obama is more capable than anyone else of
bringing about change in U.S. policy, particularly in all things
connected to the Middle East.
The paper added that in light of Obama's intent to conduct a dialogue
with Iran, the Middle East countries should launch a dialogue with him
and help him better understand what is going on.
One can only imagine what change the Saudis what kind of change the are
hoping for.

FReeper, "GovernmentIsTheProblem,"
comments on this Obama quote, "Sometimes this is a difficult road
being in politics. Sometimes you can become fearful, sometimes you
can become vain, sometimes you can seek power just for power’s sake
instead of because you want to do service to God. I just want all
of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in the same way that
Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God . . . We’re going
to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create
a Kingdom right here on Earth."
HE IS TALKING ABOUT JIHAD!!!!!
The first part of this statement is the INTERNAL struggle.
"Sometimes this is a difficult road being in politics. Sometimes
you can become fearful, sometimes you can become vain, sometimes you can
seek power just for power’s sake instead of because you want to do
service to God."
The SECOND part is about the EXTERNAL struggle.
"I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in
the same way that Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God . . .
We’re going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we
can create a Kingdom right here on Earth."
There are 2 jihads, he talks about them both in this paragraph.

Yesterday, while Obama advisers Sen. John Kerry and ex-White House
counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke were praising the Supreme Court
ruling that bin Laden can appeal to U.S. courts, Obama was wrapping up
his trip to Michigan by meeting with a group of "community
leaders."
One of those so-called leaders has been identified as Osama Siblani,
publisher of the Arab American News, and an agent of Hezbollah.
Siblani,, an open supporter of the terrorist group, was handpicked for
the meeting by the Obama campaign and Obama spoke one-to-one with
Siblani.
Siblani's brother works for Al-Manar a/k/a Hezbollah TV in Lebanon, and
Siblani's newspaper is Hezbollah's house organ in America. Sources
say Hezbollah has funneled money to the paper. Siblani was at a
small 2006 Dearborn meeting identified in the Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Seyassah,
as a meeting of Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah's American Hezbollah agents.
Nasrallah has been a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the
commander of Hezbolla troops in Bekaa, and a member
of the Shura Council, Hezbollah’s highest institution.
Siblani has openly praised Hezbollah, the group that murdered over 300
U.S. Marines and U.S. Embassy employees, as "freedom fighters"
everywhere from Hezbollah rallies to interviews on National Public Radio
to a Detroit radio station which constantly has him on, unchallenged.
At a 2006 pro-Hezbollah rally in Dearborn, Siblani called for the
participants to "pray for the Hezbollah martyrs."
This video
shows Siblani leading a Michigan rally and repeatedly asking, "Who is
the terrorist?" -- and the crowd responds, "Bush, George Bush." He
then goes on to question the crowd, "Who is the freedom fighter?" -- and
they shout "Hezbollah, Hezbollah" -- and this rally takes place in
America.
The very fact that Obama invited Siblani to talk with him is yet
another sign that Barack Obama has no problem with supporters of
terrorists who murder Americans.
Previously, Obama had a
private meeting with an imam who is an agent of Hezbollah and the
government of Iran. Why is he meeting with one of Hezbollah's most
important imams and agents in America, Imam Hassan Qazwini?
Why is this anti-Semite and supporter of Israel's annihilation getting
to discuss "the Arab-Israeli conflict" in a private one-on-one meeting
with Obama? What was said?
Debbie Schlussel
has written about Qazwini and his mosque for almost a decade.
He is tight with the Government of Iran, and he is an agent of the
Iranian government, spreading its propaganda. He was sent to the
U.S. by Iran to help radicalize his mosque, the Islamic Center of
America, which, at the time, was becoming moderate with women not
covering their hair and mixing with men.
All that has changed, under Qazwini.

"But we were taken by surprise when our African Kenyan brother [Obama],

"We hope that this is merely an elections 'clearance sale,' as they say

this is the farce of elections -- a person lies and lies to people, just
so that they will vote for him, and afterwards, when they say to him,
'You promised this and that,' he says: 'No, this was just elections
propaganda.' This is the farce of democracy for you. He
says: 'This was propaganda, and you thought I was being serious. I

Obama says if Osama bin Laden were captured on his watch,
he'd want to ensure he doesn't become a martyr if he were
prosecuted. Obama said he's not sure that the terrorist mastermind
would be captured alive.
But if he were, Obama said he would want to bring him to justice "in a
way that allows the entire world to understand the murderous acts that
he's engaged in and not to make him into a martyr."
"I will stand with them should the political
winds shift in an ugly direction." -- Barack Hussein Obama
7/4/08
The Obama campaign faces a burgeoning problem: the tendency of
certain highly-placed Muslims overseas to declare that he is of their
faith. The latest to do so is Libya's Qadhafi, in remarks made
marking the anniversary of the U.S. air raid on Libya. MEMRI provides
this
transcript:
"There are elections in America now. Along came a black citizen of
Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school
in Indonesia. His name is Obama. All the people in the Arab
and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed
him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been
involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the
American presidency."
"We still hope that this black man will take pride in his African and
Islamic identity, and in his faith, and that [he will know] that he has
rights in America, and that he will change America from evil to good,
and that America will establish relations that will serve it well with
other peoples, especially the Arabs."
Americans believe that Barack Obama has every right to become a
Christian as an adult and proclaim his faith in Jesus Christ. Americans
understand that true religious identity depends on the faith one
accepts. But we deceive ourselves if we believe the rest of the
world thinks this way.
The Muslim world sees it differently. A baby born to a Muslim
father is a Muslim. One who leaves Islam for another faith is an
apostate. It's scriptural.
Facts are stubborn things.

On Sunday CNN aired an
interview Barack Obama recently gave to Fareed Zakaria, in which the
candidate expressed the opinion that Islamic jihad is a result of U.S.
foreign policy failure.
The possibility that the jihad might have arisen not as a reaction to
actions of America and the West -- and cannot be ended by our actions,
either, with the possible exception of overwhelming military and
cultural force -- is something Obama will not admit to.
Obama blames jihad on poverty, even though most of the terrorists we
know by name are professionals and college educated -- many are
physicians and engineers.
Is Obama really ignorant of the fact that there is an expansionist and
supremacist imperative shared by all orthodox sects and schools of
Islam? Is he really ignorant of the fact that jihad is the will of
Mohammed, is
1,500 years old and for Muslims, there's nothing extreme about it?
Islam divides the world into two parts. Dar al-Islam (Dar es
Salaam) is the abode of peace. It is inhabited exclusively by
Muslims and Dhimmi.
The other is Dar al-Harb, the abode of war. It is inhabited by
kuffār, an Arabic word meaning "rejecter." It is usually
translated into English as "infidel" or "unbeliever" --
that's you.
Jihad exists for the sole purpose of converting the abode of Dar al-Harb
into the abode of Dar al-Islam. It has nothing to do with poverty -- and
Obama knows that.

Obama's campaign has
hired Hiam Nawas as its Muslim liaison, according to two sources
familiar with the move.
Nawas, a Jordanian-American who filled a similar role for the campaign
of General Wesley Clark in 2004, has a role complicated by the fact that
Obama has been forced repeatedly to deny that he is Muslim, a situation
which grates on some Muslim-Americans.
Shades of the NAFTA kerfluffle -- Obama gets to
tell us one thing while Nawas tells her constituency something else.

Obama's Muslim Outreach Adviser
resigned this week amid questions about his involvement in an
Islamic investment fund and fundamentalist groups.
Chicago lawyer Mazen Asbahi, who was appointed National Coordinator for
Muslim American affairs by the Obama campaign on July 26, stepped down
Monday after an Internet newsletter wrote about his brief stint on an
Islamic investment fund's board, which also included a fundamentalist
imam.
Mr. Asbahi was brought on in part to bridge to reach out to the Muslim
communities in Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
"We need Muslim Americans to get excited about the Campaign, and there's
a lot to get excited about!" Mr. Asbahi wrote in a statement
posted on the campaign blog when he was appointed.
Asbahi served on the board of Allied Assets Advisors Fund, a
Delaware-registered trust. Allied Asset Advisors is a subsidiary
of the North American Islamic Trust. The trust, which is supported
financially by the government of Saudi Arabia, holds title to many
mosques in the U.S. and promotes a conservative brand of Islam
compatible with the ideology of the
Muslim Brotherhood and also akin to the fundamentalist
style predominant in Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Asbahi said he resigned because he did not want to distract Obama's
campaign.
There's one of those "damned distractions"
again.

The effort to minimize any grounds for fearing Obama has
an abiding, if covert, attachment to Islam has prompted him to risk
offending Muslims in order to avoid off-message controversies and photo
ops. It is, therefore, curious in the extreme that he is giving a
prominent role at next week's Democratic convention to a leader of
an organization identified by the Department of Justice as a Muslim
Brotherhood front organization and an unindicted co-conspirator in a
terrorism financing conspiracy.
Dr. Ingrid Mattson is the president of the Islamic Society of North
America (ISNA), an organization created by the radical, Saudi-financed
Muslim Students Association. She will represent the Muslim
community at the first-ever interfaith prayer service at a Democratic
nominating convention.
Now, we know from the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial that ISNA is one
of many Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups operating in America.
We also know from a Brotherhood document entered into evidence in that
case (which is currently being retried after the first prosecution
resulted in a mistrial) that, "The work [of Brotherhood members] in
America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the
Western civilization from within, and 'sabotaging' its miserable house
by their hands and the hands of believers so that it is eliminated and
God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."
The question is why would Barak Obama's campaign -- which has prevented
Muslim women wearing head coverings from being in the background of
photographs with the candidate and which recently fired a
Muslim-outreach coordinator who had ties to another unindicted HLF
co-conspirator -- allowed itself to be put in such company?

Old videos appear to show that a radical Muslim named Khalid
Al-Mansour
helped Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama gain
acceptance into Harvard Law School.
Civil rights activist Percy Sutton recalled being solicited by Dr.
Khalid A-Mansour to write a letter of recommendation to help Obama gain
acceptance into Harvard Law School in this undated television interview
available
HERE.
"I was introduced to him [Obama] by a friend who was raising money for
him and the friends name was Dr. Khalid al Mansour from Texas," Sutton
said. "He is the principle adviser to one of the world's richest
men. He told me about Obama. He wrote to me about him and
his introduction was 'there is a young man that has applied to Harvard
and I know that you have a few friends left there because you used to go
up there to speak, would you please write a letter in support of
him?'...I wrote a letter in support of him to my friends at Harvard
saying to them I thought there was a genius that was going to be
available and I sure hoped they would treat him kindly."
There are many videos available on the internet featuring Khalid Al-Mansour,
who describes himself as an author, scholar and businessman, blasting
the Jewish culture and Christianity and preaching the virtues of Islam,
reminiscent of the controversial clips discovered of Obama’s longtime
friend and former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright that rocked headlines
earlier this spring.
In one of the videos, titled "Christians
Designed Discrimination" uploaded by a YouTube user named
IslamStudios, Al-Mansour said, "White people don't feel bad, whatever
you do to them, they deserve it, God wants you to do it and that's when
you cut out the nose, cut out the ears, take flesh out of their body,
don't worry because God wants you to do it."
He also draws lines between whites and African Americans. "The
Christianity that white people got and the Christianity that black
people got was not the same," he added.
In this video,
Al-Monsour said white people fear Islam. "The whites are saying we
can’t take over Islam, we are going to destroy it. They don’t care
if you become a Buddhist, they don’t care if you are a Confuscist, you
can be a Christian, you can be anything in this world you want, the only
thing they are afraid of is Islam because there is 1 billion 200
million, they don’t want you with that league!

Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden was
quoted
Monday as telling senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the
Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran.
In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he
opposed "opening a additional military and diplomatic front."
Biden, chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has
long been considered strongly pro-Israel. His nomination as Barack
Obama's running mate had been expected to shore up the Democrats'
strength with U.S. Jewish voters.
Army Radio said Israeli officials expressed "amazement" over the remarks
attributed to him.
Change you can believe in.

Obama had close ties to a top Saudi adviser at an early
age.
New evidence has emerged that Democratic presidential candidate Barack
Obama was closely associated as early as age 25 to a key adviser to a
Saudi billionaire who had mentored the founding members of the Black
Panthers.
In a videotaped interview this year on New York’s all news cable channel
NY1, a prominent African-American businessman and political figure made
the curious disclosures about Obama.
Percy Sutton, the former borough president of Manhattan, off-handedly
revealed the unusual circumstances about his first encounter with the
young Obama.
"I was introduced to (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him,"
Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter Dominic Carter.
"The friend’s name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas," Sutton said.
"He is the principal adviser to one of the world’s richest men. He
told me about Obama."
Sutton, the founder of Inner City Broadcasting, said al-Mansour
contacted him to ask a favor: Would Sutton write a letter in support of
Obama’s application to Harvard Law School?
"He wrote to me about him," Sutton recalled. "And his introduction was
there is a young man that has applied to Harvard. I know that you
have a few friends up there because you used to go up there to speak.
Would you please write a letter in support of him?"
Sutton said he acted on his friend al-Mansour’s advice.
"I wrote a letter of support of him to my friends at Harvard, saying to
them I thought there was a genius that was going to be available and I
certainly hoped they would treat him kindly," Sutton told NY1.
Sutton did not say why al-Mansour was helping Obama, how he discovered
him, or from whom he was raising money on Obama’s behalf.
On Monday, in Michigan, Obama became
exercised when talking about the need to give even suspected
terrorists legal rights.
"We may think this is Mohammed the terrorist," he said at a campaign
rally, but "it might be Mohammed the cab driver. You might think
it’s Barack the bomb thrower. But it might be Barack the guy
running for president."
Continuing, he got more heated, his voice booming. Referring to
the Constitution, he said: "Don’t mock the Constitution! Don’t
make fun of it! Don’t suggest that it’s un-American to abide by
what the founding fathers set up! It’s worked pretty well for 200
years!!"
I'm reminded of two quotes -- the first -- "I
will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly
direction." -- Barack Hussein Obama
The second -- "We will use your laws to defeat you" -- Osama bin Laden.

Peggy Shapiro, writing in
American Thinker, says Obama's Muslim Outreach Coordinator, Mazen
Asbahi, resigned in August after only ten days in his position, when it
was revealed that he had ties to groups associated with the Muslim
Brotherhood. However, there is a question whether Asbahi has
actually left.
Asbahi's official stint on the Obama team ended when it came to light
that he was one of six trustees of Allied Asset Advisors Funds, a
"subsidiary of the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) and an advisor to
the Dow Jones Islamic Fund. Both NAIT and Dow Jones Islamic Fund
fall under the umbrella of Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).
NAIT, which owns nearly a third of all U.S. mosques and Muslim centers,
many funded by the Saudi government, advocates a radical form of Islam.
In a report annotated by almost 500 sources, the Global Muslim
Brotherhood Daily Report concludes that ""ISNA was created in the matrix
of early organizations design to propagate Saudi/Muslim Brotherhood
fundamentalism throughout the world... ISNA and its key leaders
have a disturbing record of association with organizations and
individuals that are accused and/or convicted of providing assistance to
terrorist organizations as defined by the U.S State Department...
The largest body of evidence concerning these associations relates to
ISNA's support of the Palestinian terrorist groups Hamas and Palestinian
Islamic Jihad."
As with his other radical associations (William Ayers, Samantha Power,
Reverend Wright), Mazen Asbahi may be quietly waiting behind the
scenes to resume his place when the election is over. Investor's
Business Daily reports that Asbahi "has not stopped working on behalf of
Obama." They quote the "former" coordinator as saying that,
"despite his official exit he was still "110%" behind Obama and that he
was participating in campaign conference calls on Muslim outreach."
Leaving the campaign was a "strategic decision," according to Asbahi.
Associates who unnerve, if not terrify, most Americans may be
temporarily put aside for "strategic" campaign purposes, but who will be
influencing the course of the nation if there is an Obama Whitehouse and
the President is finally up front?

Here's more -- Gateway Pundit
reports that the Obama Campaign is holding several illegal "Get Out
the Muslim Vote" Drives at swing state mosques this week!
You can go to Eid Celebrations and sign up to vote for Obama at
the same time!!
Central Ohioans Against Terrorism
is reporting that Muslim Americans for Obama has announced a series of
"get out the vote" events at mosques in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New
York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Ohio this week during Ramadan
celebrations.
The announcement was posted at the
Asian Americans for Obama website:
They are asking volunteers to
please wear the appropriate clothing.
These "get out the vote" events flagrantly violate the tax exempt status
of these participating mosques which are strictly prohibited
from supporting or endorsing any kind of partisan political
activity.
The lawsuit, filed by Philip Berg in federal
court has taken a bizarre and disturbing twist. Rather than just
producing a birth certificate proving his eligibility for the office of
POTUS, Obama has filed a motion to dismiss.
Of the 1,143,358 resident and active
attorneys in the United States, Obama selected
Joe Sandler, of the Washington law firm Sandler, Reiff, and Young to
represent him in this filing.
Sandler's role for CAIR has been to intimidate people who dare to
expose the goals and actions of Islamofascists. For example, last
year he tried to get Jihad expert Robert Spencer banned from speaking to
the Young American Foundation by using a threatening letter.
Sandler followed up by threatening columnist Mike Adams for writing
about the Spencer incident.
The question is, why would a guy who wants to assume the role of
Commander-in-Chief select a lawyer with terrorist connections to
represent him in a law suit?
This is just another of those "guilt by associations" that Obama
dismisses as a "distraction" and the mainstream media chooses to ignore.
Is there anybody around Obama that doesn't hate this country?
10/7/08
A leading critic of Islam isn't surprised there has been
virtually no coverage or action taken against a Muslim group that has
been
running an illegal "get out the vote" campaign in swing-state
mosques.
The group, Muslim Americans for Obama [MAFO], insists that all of its
voter registration activity is non-partisan, despite the fact that its
mission statement says it was launched in August 2008 "to provide a
vehicle for Muslim-American supporters of Barack Obama to organize and
mobilize our fellow citizens to get out the vote to elect Barack Obama
the next president of the United States."
Continuing, the group's website states: "Although there is only a short
period of time until the election..., there is much work to be done for
supporters of Barack Obama's candidacy. [MAFO] was formed to offer a
vehicle for Muslim-Americans to mobilize quickly and effectively so that
our community turns out in great numbers for Barack Obama on Election
Day."
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- The leader of a jihadi group in Iraq
argued Friday that the election of Barack Obama as president represented
a victory for radical Islamic groups that had battled American forces
since the invasion of Iraq.
Dressed in intricately decorated red and gold robes and a matching fez,
Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said that the president-elect
has an Allah-given capacity to handle any burdens he'll face as the
nation's leader.
The Nation of Islam has taught that whites are descended from the devil
and that blacks are the chosen people of Allah.

Let my people go!
President-elect Obama's advisers are quietly
crafting a proposal to ship dozens, if not hundreds, of imprisoned
terrorism suspects to the United States to face criminal trials, a plan
that would make good on his promise to close the Guantanamo Bay prison.
Under plans being put together in Obama's camp, some detainees would be
released and many others would be prosecuted in U.S. criminal courts.
A third group of detainees -- the ones whose cases are most entangled in
highly classified information -- might have to go before a new court
designed especially to handle sensitive national security cases,
according to advisers and Democrats involved in the talks.
Advisers participating directly in the planning spoke on condition of
anonymity because the plans aren't final.
Prosecuting all detainees in federal courts raises a host of problems.
Evidence gathered through military interrogation or from intelligence
sources might be thrown out. Defendants would have the right to
confront witnesses, meaning undercover CIA officers or terrorist
turncoats might have to take the stand, jeopardizing their cover and
revealing classified intelligence tactics.

Obama has
decided to base his diplomatic approach to the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict on the Saudi peace plan, the Times of London reports today.
A "senior Obama adviser" tells the Times that Obama will back the plan
that divides Jerusalem into two capitals and pulls Israel back to
pre-1967 borders.
The proposal gives Israel an effective veto on the return of Arabs who
voluntarily left in 1948 while requiring it to restore the Golan
Heights to Syria and allow the Palestinians to establish a state capital
in east Jerusalem.
Obama has changed his position from his speech at American Israel Public
Affairs Committee (AIPAC). In early June, he told the
Israeli-supporting political action group that Jerusalem "must remain
undivided," drawing thunderous applause and roars of criticism later
from Palestinian groups. Within hours, Obama retreated to the
position that Jerusalem should be left to the two sides to negotiate in
the final settlement.
Now he has switched sides to the exact opposite of what he argued at
AIPAC. One has to wonder what all of those Jewish voters who
supported Obama will think of this new position on Israel’s borders and
security.
Obama reportedly told Mahmoud Abbas that "Israel would be crazy" not to
accept the plan. He concluded that the Saudi plan would give
Israel peace with the entire Muslim world. Really? It might
make it palatable for some states like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to
start diplomatic relations with Israel, and perhaps even Syria if they
get back the Golan Heights. But who believes that Iran, Yemen,
Libya, Sudan, and the proxy armies of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic
Jihad will suddenly discover brotherly love with such a settlement?
They want Israel wiped off the map, literally in Iran’s case, and the
Israelis driven into the Mediterranean.
Israel can decide on its own to take a risk and adopt the smaller
borders in exchange for the promise of peace. Obama should have stuck
with his AIPAC speech, or the initial retreat from it.

This week, top Hamas adviser Ahmed Yousef -- the
same Hamas official who
endorsed
Obama last spring -- revealed to an Arabic newspaper that during the
presidential campaign, aides to Obama were already, as Obama might say,
"sitting down" with members of the terrorist organization.
"We were in contact with a number of Obama's aides through the Internet,
and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to come
out with any statements, as they may have a negative effect on his
election campaign," Yousef told the London-based Al-Hayat.
According to Yousef, Al-Hayat reported, Hamas's contact with Obama's

Obama is considering making a major
foreign policy speech in an Islamic capital during his first 100
days as president in an effort to mend rifts between the U.S. and the
Muslim world.
Helene Cooper of The New York Times spoke to several sources, including
diplomats, about which Islamic capital Obama might choose, and the
consensus was Cairo, Egypt.
The reason: Process of elimination.
A speech in Baghdad would appear to validate the Iraq war, which Obama
opposed. A visit to Damascus, the Syrian capital, "would look as
if he was rewarding the Syrians and it’s too soon for that," Ziad Asali,
president of the American Task Force on Palestine, told Cooper.
Asali also ruled out:
Ramallah on the West Bank, noting that "Palestinians seek Jerusalem as
their capital."
Tehran in Iran. "Too soon for that." Amman, Jordan. "Been there, done
that."
Islamabad, Pakistan. "Too dangerous."
Ankara, Turkey. "Too safe."
As for Jakarta, Indonesia, where Obama spent part of his youth, "people
would yawn about that," said Asali.
One of Obama’s foreign policy advisers ruled out Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
and other capitals around the Persian Gulf.
Cooper concluded: "It’s got to be Cairo. Egypt is perfect. It’s
certainly Muslim enough, populous enough and relevant enough. It’s
an American ally, but there are enough tensions in the relationship that
the choice will feel bold."
How about Mecca?

Muslims Say "It's Our Time"
A magazine that proudly
promotes itself as Muslim has announced a special edition for Barack
Obama's inauguration as president, with Editor Nida Kahn claiming, "It's
our time."
The publication, Elan magazine, also includes
endorsements of Obama's familiarity with Islam from the daughter of
Malcolm X and Benjamin F. Chavis Muhammad, the chief of the Hip-Hop
Summit Action Network, as well as others.
The magazine, which
calls itself the "guide to global Muslim culture," is distributed in the
U.S., Pakistan, Indonesia, Canada, Qatar, the United Kingdom and the
United Arab Emirates, as well as online.
"Muslim World Embraces
Obama," is the cover story for the latest edition, and "explores
the hopes and aspirations of Muslims regarding America's new president."
Editor Khan writes, "As the guide to global Muslim culture, we
here at Elan felt compelled to honor the 44th president of the United
States via this special inauguration issue. Barack Hussein Obama
not only possesses a keen understanding of the complexities of society
but has demonstrated his willingness to engage in discourse and seek
amicable solutions even with our opponents."
Chavis Muhammad
writes that "with some 1.25 billion Muslims across the globe, the
Islamic world couldn't be more excited and anticipatory about the
possibility of increased dialogue, understanding and unity that Obama's
presidency will undoubtedly bring."
"As an African American
Muslim, I can say my prayers were answered when Obama was elected,"
Chavis Muhammad writes.
He quotes Ayann Ahmed, an entrepreneur
working with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, saying, "I believe he will
help bring about a better understanding that Islam is a religion of
peace and compassion."

Inaugural Jihad
Obama has invited
Ingrid Mattson,
the first woman president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)
to offer prayer at his inauguration
ISNAwas an unindicted co-conspirator in the
same Hamas funding case that named
CAIR as a
Muslim Brotherhood group.
The Muslim Brotherhood's goal is destroying
Western civilization from within.
The Investigative Project on
Terrorism chronicled the financial ties between ISNA and its affiliate
organization, the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), and Hamas several
times, including during the first trial against Home Land Foundation
(HLF):
Exhibits entered into evidence a few days ago at the HLF
trial include an expense voucher from NAIT) an ISNA subsidiary, made out
for $10,000 in the name of Musa Abu Marzook, as well as a check drawn on
a NAIT account in the same amount made out to Marzook. Another
check for $10,000 on the same account was made out to Marzook's wife,
Nadia Elashi. Another check for $30,000 was made out to the Islamic
University of Gaza (and has Shukri Abu Baker/OLF written on the memo
line), a school long known to be controlled by HAMAS, and which counted
such notables as former HAMAS leader Dr. Abdel Aziz Rantissi and current
HAMAS leader Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahar as professors, and the recently
deposed HAMAS Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh is a former dean of the
University.
That is NAIT/ISNA money going to a top Hamas
official, his wife, and a university controlled by Hamas. So the
lawyers for ISNA and NAIT are admitting that both groups
supported Hamas financially in the late 80's and early 90's,
which, at a minimum, destroys ISNA's contention that the group has no
ties to Hamas, let alone the Muslim Brotherhood.
In its latest filing
before the federal district court in Dallas on behalf of the ISNA and its affiliate organization, NAIT, in the Hamas-terrorism financing
case, the ACLU has made a
noteworthy admission.
Rather than deny that there is copious evidence tying
ISNA and NAIT to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, ISNA and NAIT admit that the documents
tying their organizations to Hamas are "authentic," but that they are old.
Clearly, Obama has no problem with the Muslim
Brotherhood and its satellite organizations CAIR, ISNA and NAIT, nor the
people who run them.

Muslims Await Obama's Change
A coalition of the 12-largest Muslim organizations in the US has
issued an open-letter to Obama urging him to break away from
the policies of President George Bush's administration and to engage the
American Muslim community.
"We...wish to see you instruct senior
officials in your administration to reinstate roundtables with Muslim
leadership for all departments, such as State, Justice, Homeland
Security and Health and Human Services," said the American Muslim Task
Force on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT).
Unveiling the
"American Muslims in the American Mainstream,"
open-letter in a press conference on Monday, December 29, AMT
chairman Agha Saeed said the incoming Obama administration needs to take
notice of the American Muslim community.
"Ninety-five percent of
Muslims voted on the day of election," he stressed. "That was the
highest voter turnout of any community in America."
"As you
assume your new duties, there are some areas we hope you will list among
your priorities," read their open-letter.
"This includes
restoring due process, objective justice, repealing manifestly
unconstitutional clauses of the USA PATRIOT ACT, ending COINTELPRO
campaigns against Muslim and Arab American communities, and ensuring
that our nation rejects the use of ex post facto laws."
"We look
forward to your proposals for providing universal healthcare to our
citizens and fixing our nation’s broken immigration system."
"We
demand that our government, the US government, take immediate
steps to end the immoral and illegal Israeli bombardment of Gaza and its
population," said Awad.

Obama Accuses US Of
Colonialism
When Al Arabiya
said to Obama that America "was the only Western Power that was not
colonial." Obama simply said "Right." You would think a patriot
like Obama would have said "Excuse me, but the United States still isn't
a colonial power." If such a statement had occurred I would be
here applauding Obama.
Instead he took his rant about the United
States being a colonialist imperialist power, one step further.
Obama: "We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.
But if you look at the track record, as you say, America was not born as
a colonial power, and that the same respect and partnership that America
had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there's no
reason why we can't restore that."
Apparently, George Bush, Bill
Clinton, and George W. Bush (since 20 years we have been Colonial powers
according to Obama) are all Colonialist Imperialist evil geniuses.
Is this the "Unified America," Obama always talks about?
Accusing past presidents of colonialism? Does he even know what
Colonialism means?

Submission
Obama was working with Arab intermediaries to establish an
unofficial dialogue with Al Qaida long before the election,
according to a report in the Feb. 4th edition of
Geostrategy-Direct.com.
Al Qaida has offered what has been
described as a truce (hudna)
in exchange for a U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan, according
to the report.
Obama has deemed the U.S. reconciliation with the
Muslim world, including Iran, as his main foreign policy goal, sources
quoted in the report said. Obama has been aided by several Persian
Gulf Arab Muslims with ties to Al Qaida's leadership in Pakistan.
On his first day in office, Obama ordered the shutdown of the U.S.
Navy prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where 245 Al Qaida members are
detained,
saying, "Can we guarantee that they're not going to try to
participate in another attack? No." But he'll let them free
nonetheless.
Obama
spoke about his own ties to the Muslim world:
"Now, my job is
to communicate the fact that the United States has a stake in the
well-being of the Muslim world, that the language we use has to be a
language of respect," Obama said. "I have Muslim members of my
family. I have lived in Muslim countries."
"My job to the
Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy --
we sometimes make mistakes -- we have not been perfect."
Whose job is it to communicate to
this fool that al Qaeda is OUR enemy?
Trained as a Muslim, Obama
knows that in Islam, the world is divided into two parts -- Dar
al-Islam and Dar al-Harb.
Dar al-Islam literally means the
"House of Peace" which is all the lands conquered and subjugated by
Islam.
Dar al-Harb literally means the "House of War" which is
all the lands currently not conquered by Islam.
Islam's chief
goal is to eventually conquer and subjugate all the lands of Dar al-Harb
into one territory called Dar al-Islam. Only after all people and
all lands of the world have been conquered and have submitted to Islam
is there to be "peace" in the world.
Update: Ayman al-Zawahri, Al Qaeda's deputy leader, said
Washington remains a main enemy of Muslims.
"I remind our
mujahideen brothers that our enemy in Gaza is not only Israel but the
Zionist-crusader coalition, with America, the leader of evil ... at its
head."
"The Zionist-crusader (Israeli-Western) campaign against
Islam and the Muslims cannot be defeated without warfare," Zawahri said,
calling the devout to join a jihad.
Looks like al-Zawahiri didn't get
Obama's memo.

Screw You Cheney -- Take This
ABC News has
learned that Obama will order the Department of Defense's Military
Commission to withdraw charges against terrorist suspect
Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, who been identified as the former Persian
Gulf Operations Chief for al Qaeda and the mastermind of the
attack on
the U.S.S. Cole, that killed 17 American sailors and wounded nine.
Obama tied his administration's own hands, requiring his Secretary
of Defense to drop the charges. The executive order President
Obama signed on closing the Guantanamo Detention Facilities states that
"all proceedings" in the US Military Commissions must be "halted."
Last week the judge supervising the al-Nashiri trial -- Army Col.
James L. Pohl, the chief judge at the Guantanamo Bay war crimes court --
said he would not heed President Obama's request for a 120-day
continuance, or delay, in prosecutions of terrorism suspects. Pohl
called the president's request "not reasonable" and not "in the
interests of justice."
The arraignment of al-Nashiri was
scheduled for Monday, February 9.

Winning Over Muslims
Obama was asked, in a television interview with CNN's "Anderson Cooper
360," why he hasn't used the oft-repeated "war on terror" phrase coined
by the Bush administration. Obama
said he believes the U.S. can win over moderate Muslims if he
doesn't.
Instead, Obama has spoken broadly of the "enduring
struggle against terrorism and extremism" and pledged to "go after"
extremists and "win this fight."
"I think it is very important
for us to recognize that we have a battle or a war against some
terrorist organizations," Obama said Tuesday. "But that those
organizations aren't representative of a broader Arab community, Muslim
community."
He added that he believes the U.S. can convince
Muslims "that we should be working together to make sure that everybody
has got a better life."

Hussein Comes Out Of The
Closet
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR),
part of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee, welcomed Obama's
use of a quote from Islam's Prophet Muhammad in his remarks at
Thursday's National Prayer Breakfast.
In his prepared
remarks, Obama quoted the prophetic tradition, or "hadith," which
states: "None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what
he wishes for himself. There is no religion whose central tenet is
hate. There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent
human being."
Arguably, that is true: there is no religion whose
central tenet is hate: there is no religion that teaches that the most
important thing one must do in this world is hate someone or something
else. But certainly the religion that comes closest to teaching
such a thing is Islam. If the Qur'an doesn't teach that Muslims
should hate unbelievers, certainly it teaches that they should be harsh
with them, consider them the worst of all created beings, not become
friends with them, and, ultimately, wage war against and kill or
subjugate them:
"O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and
the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He
among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah
guideth not wrongdoing folk." -- Qur'an 5:51
"O ye who believe!
Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find
harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty
(unto Him)." -- Qur'an 9:123
"Those who reject (Truth), among the
People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to
dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures." --
Qur'an 98:6
"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last
Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His
Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of
the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing
submission, and feel themselves subdued." -- Qur'an 9:29

Listen Up, Obama
Obama
promised that during his first 100 days in office, he would deliver
a major address in a key Islamic capital aimed at improving America’s
ties with the Muslim world.
Looking ahead to Obama’s address,
leading Islamic governments say improving relations between Islam and
the West will require a review of anti-terror policies and a recognition
of the need to address what they say are the "root causes" of terrorism.
At a meeting this week hosted by Pakistan’s Council of Islamic
Ideology, ambassadors from Muslim countries put forward recommendations
that they said would help to improve relations.
Iranian
Ambassador Mashaallah Shakeri said, "Now, the U.S. must listen
prior to talking."
"Bloodshed and suicide attacks have nothing to
do with Islam," said Pakistan’s religious affairs minister, Hamid Saeed
Kazmi.
Syrian envoy Muhammad Raid Ismat called for a distinction
between terrorism and what he called a legitimate struggle for a
homeland.
Participants said Islam was misunderstood in the West,
and they took issue with the linking of terrorism and Islam.
Two
hundred years ago, John Quincy Adams, the sixth American President
understood these "root causes," and
wrote, "The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who
deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God. The vanquished may
purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; the victorious may be
appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace; and the faithful
follower of the prophet, may submit to the imperious necessities of
defeat: but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is
always obligatory, when it can be made effective. The commands of
the prophet may be performed alike, by fraud, or by force."

International Criminal Court
Two weeks ago, U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice, in a closed Security
Council meeting, voiced support for the International Criminal Court
(ICC). She said it "looks to become an important and credible
instrument for trying to hold accountable the senior leadership
responsible for atrocities committed in the Congo, Uganda and Darfur."
Obama said little about the ICC during his campaign for the
White House. But in his first weeks as President, his actions
speak less to constituents in Peoria and the Bronx than to admirers in
Paris and Brussels. Obama’s trans-American constituent service
includes his decision to shutter "Gitmo" and grant his first
presidential interview with Al Arabiya television.
In his
inauguration speech, Obama declared that "America is ready to lead once
more." He said American power "does [not] entitle us to do as we
please." In the parlance of the Left, these suggest submission to
international authority, which was raised again last week when Ben
Chang, spokesman for National Security Advisor General James Jones,
echoed Rice’s comments about the Court. In the context of an ICC
indictment for Sudanese President Omar Bashir, Chang told the Washington
Times, "We support the ICC in its pursuit of those who’ve perpetrated
war crimes."
So, what will ICC engagement
mean for
the United States?
"If the United States were to join the ICC,"
David Scheffer and John Hutson write, "one would have to accept at least
the theoretical possibility that American citizens (particularly
political and military leaders) could be prosecuted before the ICC on
charges of committing atrocity crimes," and without the protections
afforded by Constitutional and laws.
Waterboarding; Abu Ghraib;
detaining terrorists at Guantanamo Bay dissing Hans Blix.
Self-loathing Americans whose minds are confined in the cult of
globalism don’t see it that way. Each of these "offenses" has at
least one thing in common: they hurt the feelings of foreigners.
Insensitivity to the outside world, U.S. internationalists argue, is a
stain on Uncle Sam’s reputation from which we must repent.

Obama: I'll Forge New Ties With Muslims
In phone
conversations with the leaders of Indonesia,
Saudi Arabia and the Philippines on Friday, Obama
discussed his commitment to forging a new
relationship with Islamic countries, among other
issues.
The White House said Obama
discussed the importance of improving US relations
with Islamic countries with Indonesian President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono.
Obama noted that he and Yudhoyono would
attend the Group of 20 nations summit next month in London.
At
the end of his European trip next month, Obama is scheduled to visit
Turkey, a Muslim country where relations with the US were strained by
the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Obama and King Abdullah of Saudi
Arabia, another G-20 country and longtime US ally in the Middle East,
agreed on the importance of maintaining a strong US-Saudi relationship
to promote peace and security in the region.
The White House
said they also spoke about coordinating international efforts to restore
economic growth.
In his conversation with Philippine President
Gloria Macapagal Arroy, Obama commended her country's efforts against
terrorism and in modernizing the armed forces. They also talked about
cooperating on other issues, including climate change and education, the
White House said.
Obama and Arroyo also reaffirmed their
commitment to the long-standing US-Philippine alliance, including the
Visiting Forces Agreement, a bilateral pact that governs the conduct of
US forces in the country.

Negotiating With Terrorists
A group of former senior American
officials and one current top adviser to the Obama administration are
petitioning the U.S. president to
open talks with the Hamas terrorist
organization, believing the group can be part of the Palestinian peace
process.
Paul Volcker, a former Federal Reserve chairman who was
selected by Obama to head his new economic recovery advisory board,
reportedly signed a letter advocating dialogue with Hamas.
Other
signatories of the letter reportedly included Brent Scowcroft, national
security adviser to George Bush Sr., Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was
President Jimmy Carter's security adviser. Brzezinski's pro-Hamas views
have been aired publicly in newspaper opinion pieces and policies
speeches; former House International Relations Committee chairman Lee
Hamilton; former United Nations ambassador Thomas Pickering; former
World Bank president James Wolfensohn; former U.S. trade representative
Carla Hills; Theodore Sorensen, former special counsel to President John
F. Kennedy; and former Republican Sens. Chuck Hagel and Nancy Kassebaum
Baker.
"I see no reason not to talk to Hamas," Scowcroft told the
Globe.
The Telegraph of London reported the group is expected to
be granted an audience at the White House as early as this week to make
their case to Obama that lines of communication should be opened with
Hamas.
A top Palestinian Authority negotiator pointed to Sen. John Kerry's visit
last month to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip and the Massachusetts
lawmaker's reported acceptance of a letter from the Islamist group as
"legitimizing Hamas."
Our enemies can always count on John Kerry.

Let My People Go
Some of the Guantanamo Bay
prisoners could be released
into the United States while others could be
put on trial in the American court system, Attorney General Eric Holder
said on Wednesday.
Holder told reporters at the Justice
Department that the administration's review, made on a case-by-case
basis, would determine whether the prisoners need to be put on trial or
whether they can be released.
"For those who are in that second
category, who can be released, there are a variety of options that we
have. Among them is the possibility that we could release them into this
country," he said.
"We've been trying to come up with places for
them," Holder said of the Uighurs, 17 Chinese Muslims. Their lawyers have asked Obama to
bring them to the United States.
Holder said the administration was
also looking at the possibility of putting some of the Guantanamo prisoners
on trial in U.S. courts. "My guess is that some of those people would be
tried in" the U.S. court system, he said.

Obama To Attend Pro-Islamist Conference
Obama
will visit Turkey between April 6-7 to
attend an annual forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in Istanbul,
Spanish diplomatic sources said on Monday. Turkey’s president said
Tuesday Obama's planned visit was very important. Obama will attend the
second annual forum of the U.N.-led Alliance of Civilizations
initiative, co-chaired by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and his
Spanish counterpart Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
The
Global Muslim Brotherhood Report describes the Alliance of Civilizations
as an organization which is represented in the U.S. and Europe by
individuals sympathetic to the global
Muslim Brotherhood. According to
the AOC website, the AOC "High Level Group Members" in the U.S. and
Western Europe are: Prof. John Esposito (United States), Rabbi Arthur Schneier (United States), Hubert
Védrine (France), and Karen Armstrong (United Kingdom)
Esposito is an
apologist for the radical Islamist movement;
Impugning those
who equate Islamist movements "with radicalism and terrorism," Esposito
claims that such thinking merely "becomes a convenient pretext for
crushing political opposition." Islamist movements, he explains,
"are not necessarily anti-Western, anti-American, or anti-democratic."
Moreover, he minimizes the fact that those nations that have adopted
Islamic law are, for the most part, totalitarian states that export
terrorism and egregiously violate the human rights of their inhabitants.
" Contrary to what some have advised," he writes, "the United States
should not in principle object to implementation of Islamic law or
involvement of Islamic activists in government."
In fact
all of the attendees above are apologists of either the radical Islamist
movement or to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The question is why is the
US Commander of Chief of a War on Terrorism attending a conference that
supports a radical Islamist point of view?
More than two months
into Barack Obama's presidency, as many people
identify him as a Muslim
as did so during the 2008 campaign. When asked about Obama's religious
beliefs, 11% say he is a Muslim. In October, 12% said Obama is a Muslim,
which was unchanged from earlier in the campaign.
In the current
survey, 35% say they do not know Obama's religion, either because they
do not know enough about him (22%), or because they have heard different
things about his religion (13%); another 6% refused to answer.
As
was the case last fall, white evangelical Protestants (19%) and
Republicans (17%) are among the most likely to view Obama as a Muslim. Fewer than half in each group -- 38% of white evangelicals and 46% of
Republicans -- identify Obama as a Christian.
While relatively
few Democrats (7%) say Obama is a Muslim, just 55% identify his
religious beliefs as Christian, down slightly from 61% last fall. Among
independents, 10% say Obama is a Muslim (compared with 12% in October),
while 45% say he is a Christian (50% in October).
The latest
national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press,
conducted March 9-12 among 1,308 adults reached on landlines and cell
phones, finds continuing educational differences in views of Obama's
religious beliefs: 68% of college graduates identify Obama as a
Christian, while 6% say he is a Muslim. By contrast, just a third (33%)
of those with no more than a high school education say Obama is a
Christian, while 14% see him as a Muslim.
Pew's polling numbers might change,
once the American public sees these images.
Of course, they never will if the national media has their way.
Three days ago, I asked visitors to The Obama File to submit the names
of those news sources that published Obama's humiliating display of
dhimmitude.
I'm still waiting for the first report.

"I Am One Of Them"
Obama made an address to the Turkish Parliament in Ankara, Turkey. Al-Jazeera's Anita McNaught,
reporting from Istanbul, wrote: "This was the
address we had all been waiting for, it hit all the right notes."
"He
talked about the contribution of the Islamic faith in the life of
American Muslims and then he personalised that message by saying 'I know
because I am one of them.' It was a message that reached out to many
today...."
In the same speech, Obama said, "we do
not consider ourselves a Christian nation."
I don't know if Obama
had a mouse in his pocket, but I know he wasn't speaking for the 78.5%
of US citizens who call themselves Christians (CIA
World Factbook). Perhaps the "we" he was referring to is the
0.6% of Americans who are Muslims. That would make sense.

Obama Says Islam Has Shaped The U.S.A.
Robert
Spencer, writing at
Front Page Magazine comments on Obama's statement to
the Turkish Parliament, "We will convey our deep appreciation for the
Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the
world -- including in my own country."
Undeniably the Islamic
faith has done a great deal to shape the world -- a statement that makes
no value judgment about exactly how it has shaped the world. It has
formed the dominant culture in what is known as the Islamic world for
centuries. But what on earth could Obama mean when he says that Islam
has also "done so much" to shape his own country?
Unless he
considers himself an Indonesian, Obama’s statement was extraordinarily
strange. After all, how has the Islamic faith shaped the United States? Were there Muslims along Paul Revere’s ride, or standing next to Patrick
Henry when he proclaimed, "Give me liberty or give me death"? Were there
Muslims among the framers or signers of the Declaration of Independence,
which states that all men -- not just Muslims, as Islamic law would have
it -- are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights,
including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Were there Muslims
among those who drafted the Constitution and vigorously debated its
provisions, or among those who enumerated the Bill of Rights, which
guarantees -- again in contradiction to the tenets of Islamic law -- that
there should be no established national religion, and that the freedom
of speech should not be infringed?
There were not.
Did
Muslims play a role in the great struggle over slavery that defined so
much of our contemporary understandings of the nature of this republic
and of the rights of the individual within it? They did not. Did the
Islamic faith shape the way the United States responded to the titanic
challenges of the two World Wars, the Great Depression, or the Cold War? It did not. Did the Islamic faith, with its legal apparatus that
institutionalizes discrimination against non-Muslims, shape the civil
rights movement in the United States? The Civil Rights Act of 1964
mandated equality of access to public facilities -- a hard-won victory
that came at a great cost, and one that Muslim groups have tried to roll
back in the United States recently. One notable example of such attempts
was the alcohol-in-cabs controversy at the Minneapolis-St. Paul
international airport, when Muslim cabdrivers began to refuse service to
customers who were carrying alcohol, on Islamic religious grounds. The
core assumption underlying this initiative -- that discrimination on the
basis of religion is justified -- cut right to the heart of the core
principle of the American polity, that "all men are created equal," that
is, that they have a right to equal treatment in law and society.
Surveying the whole tapestry of American history, one would be
hard-pressed to find any significant way in which the Islamic faith has
shaped the United States in terms of its governing principles and the
nature of American society. Meanwhile, there are numerous ways in which,
if there had been a significant Muslim presence in the country at the
time, some of the most cherished and important principles of American
society and law may have met fierce resistance, and may never have seen
the light of day.
So in what way has the Islamic faith shaped
Obama’s country? The most significant event connected to the Islamic
faith that has shaped the character of the United States was the attack
on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Those
attacks have shaped the nation in numerous ways: they’ve led to numerous
innovations in airline security, which in generations to come -- if
today’s politically correct climate continues to befog minds -- may be
added to future versions of the fanciful "1001 Muslim Inventions"
exhibition. The Islamic faith has shaped the U.S. since 9/11 in leading
to the spending of billions on anti-terror measures, and to the ventures
in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to Guantanamo, and to so many features of
the modern political and social landscape that they cannot be enumerated
within the space of a single article.
Of course, it is certain
that Obama had none of that in mind. But what could he possibly have had
in mind? His statement was either careless or ignorant, or both -- not
qualities we need in a Commander-in-Chief even in the best of times.

U.S. Muslim Coalition Applauds Obama
The
American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT), a
coalition of major national Islamic organizations,
applauded Obama's
Monday address to the Turkish parliament, in a statement issued today at
a press briefing at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. It
reads, in part:
We applaud President Obama's remarks and hope
that they are a sign of improved relations between America and the
Muslim world. In his speech, Obama rightly said that the United States
is not and will never be at war with Islam. This is a position that
needs restating at every opportunity.
We also agree with the
president's statement that better relations with the Muslim world are
vital in 'rolling back a fringe ideology that people of all faiths
reject.
We appreciate that the president noted the contributions
of American Muslims and recognized that many Americans have Muslims in
their family, or have lived in a Muslim-majority country.
Turkey
is a key player in the region and is well-placed to assist the United
States in reaching out to nations such as Iran and Syria and to help
achieve a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli
conflict. We also support President Obama's backing of Turkey's entry
into the European Union.
The American Muslim community believes
President Obama's new policy of dialogue and mutual respect will serve
our nation and the cause of world peace and stability much better than
past policies of unilateralism and confrontation.
At today's
briefing, AMT representatives also called on Obama to address domestic
issues such as the rising level of Islamophobic attitudes in the United
States, the deteriorating relations between the FBI and American
Muslims, the dissemination of inaccurate and agenda-driven information
by DHS-recognized "fusion centers," and Muslims' concerns about Justice
Department guidelines implemented in December 2008 that allow race and
ethnicity to be factors in opening an FBI probe.
If a coalition of major national
Islamic organizations is happy about Obama's pronouncements, it can't be
too good for the rest of us. Sharia law is coming to America.

Obama Invites The OIC To The White House
Since taking office
Obama has focused on three things -- the transformation of our
capitalistic economy to a form of socialist statist fascism, the
abdication of American sovereignty to a trans-nationalism and the
advancement of the worldwide domination of Islam, the ultimate goal of
the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). There is conspiracy
theory and conspiracy fact -- the global jihad is conspiracy fact. And
the OIC is behind it.
The Secretary General of the OIC,
Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, had the occasion yesterday on the sidelines
of the 2nd Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations (AoC), to have a brief
encounter with Obama. The encounter took place during the official
reception given by Turkish Prime Minister, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,
where Obama reiterated to the Secretary General the willingness
and readiness of the U. S. Administration to explore areas of
cooperation with the OIC.
To this end, Obama extended an
invitation to Prof. Ihsanoglu to visit the White House in Washington
D.C.
Bat Ye'or, the world's leading scholar on Islam, has this to
say about the OIC:
The OIC
is one of the largest intergovernmental organizations in the world. It
encompasses 56 Muslim states plus the Palestinian Authority. Spread over
four continents, it claims to speak in the name of the ummah (the
universal Muslim community), which numbers about 1.3 billion. The OIC’s
mission is to unite all Muslims worldwide by rooting them in the Koran
and the Sunnah -- the core of traditional Islamic civilization and
values. It aims at strengthening solidarity and cooperation among all
its members, in order to protect the interests of Muslims everywhere and
to galvanize the ummah into a unified body.
The OIC is a unique
organization -- one that has no equivalent in the world. It unites the
religious, economic, military, and political strength of 56 states. By
contrast, the European Union represents half as many states and is a
secular body only, and the Vatican -- which speaks for the world’s 1.1
billion Catholics -- is devoid of any political or military power. Many Muslims in
the West resist the OIC’s tutelage and oppose its efforts to supplant
Western law with sharia. But the OIC’s resources are formidable.
The organization has numerous subsidiary institutions collaborating
at the highest levels with international organizations in order to
implement its political objectives worldwide. Its main working bodies
are the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization
(ISESCO), which seeks to impose on the West the Islamic perception of
history and civilization; the Observatory of Islamophobia, which puts
pressure on Western governments and international bodies to adopt laws
punishing "Islamophobia" and blasphemy; and the newly created Islamic
International Court of Justice. As stated in its 1990 Cairo Declaration
on Human Rights in Islam, the OIC is strictly tied to the principles of
the Koran, the Sunnah, and the sharia. In a word, the OIC seeks to
become the reincarnation of the Caliphate.
The OIC regularly
reiterates its commitments to protecting the political, historical,
religious, and human rights of Muslims in non-OIC states, especially
Muslims who form the majority in specific regions of non-Muslim
countries -- such as the southern Philippines, southern Thailand, and
western Thrace in Greece -- as well as Muslims in places like the
Balkans, the Caucasus, Myanmar, India, and China. The OIC supports Hamas
and the Palestinians in their struggle to destroy Israel, as well as the
Muslim fight for "legitimate self-determination" in "Indian-occupied
Jammu and Kashmir." It has condemned the "continual Armenian aggression
against Azerbaijan," and it expresses its full solidarity with "the just
cause of the Muslim Turkish people of Cyprus" and with Sudanese
President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir, whom many hold responsible for
encouraging the massacres in Darfur. The seat of the OIC is in Jeddah,
but the organization regards that location as temporary: Its
headquarters will be transferred to al-Kods (Islamized Jerusalem) when
that city has been "liberated" from Israeli control.
In its
efforts to defend the "true image" of Islam and combat its defamation,
the organization has requested the UN and the Western countries to
punish "Islamophobia" and blasphemy. Among the manifestations of Islamophobia, in the OIC’s view, are European opposition to illegal
immigration, anti-terrorist measures, criticism of multiculturalism, and
indeed any efforts to defend Western cultural and national identities. The OIC has massive funding from oil sources, which it lavishly spends
on the Western media and academia and in countless "dialogues." It
influences Western policy, laws, and even textbooks through pressures
brought by Muslim immigrants and by the Western nations' own leftist
parties. Hence, we have seen Kristallnacht-like incitements of hate and
murder against European Jews and Israel conducted with impunity in the
cities of Europe -- where respect for human rights is supposed to be one
of the highest values.
Obama, who made a point of
being introduced to the Turkish Nation as "Barack Hussein Obama," was
quoted as saying that, "the United States has been enriched by
Muslim Americans," including his ancestors.
The following is a
list of the Muslim accomplishments that have enriched America:

Obama's Five Pillars
Atlas Shrugs
asks if any
of you watched Obama's propaganda speech earlier today, and did you find
it shocking when he described his plan for America in the context of
"five pillars"?
Last month Obama
revealed
his "Five Pillars of Education."
Today he declared his dedication to what he called the "five pillars" of
his new "house upon a rock."
In Islam, the Five Pillars of Islam
(Arabic: أركان الإسلام) is the term given to the
five duties incumbent
on every Muslim.
These duties are Shahada (Profession of Faith),
Salat (Prayers), Zakat (Giving of Alms), Sawm (Fasting during Ramadan)
and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca).
Obama gives the lone jihadi syndrome a whole new meaning.
Obama's repeated use of the
"five pillars" is obviously just a coincidence. Just like Obama's
humiliating submission to the Protector of the two Holy Places. (sarcasm off)

Three weeks before Obama sicked his Justice and Homeland Security
Departments on America's heroes,
Obama, as one of his first acts, signed an executive order
-- he says, "in the national interest" -- that will allow thousands of
Gazan Palestinians
to settle in the United States at American taxpayers' expense. Sure, what
can go wrong when we allow thousands of people who have
been, as Mark Steyn memorably described, "marinated" in a "sick death
cult," who voted for Hamas, and 55% of whom support suicide
bombing/murders, into the United States?
By executive order,
Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in
immigration assistance to the Palestinians. Egypt won't take
them. Jordan won't take them. Syria won't take them. Saudi Arabia won't take
them. All of the Arab countries -- every one of them -- have allowed the
Palestinians to fester for over 60 years. Meanwhile, generation after
generation have become more and more radicalized. Their lives are
unfulfilled and unproductive. They "live" to die as martyrs, yearning for the rewards
of the world beyond.
This "presidential determination" will allow
thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in
the United States. The determination was assigned on January 27 and
appeared in the Federal Register on February 4. Obama's
decision, according to the Register, was necessitated by "the urgent
refugee and migration needs" of the "victims."
Few on Capitol
Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with
housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their
overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the
parliamentary election of January 2006.

Obama's Address To The Muslim World
The grand
mufti of Egypt has invited Obama to
address Muslims around the
globe from one of the most important mosques in the Islamic world.
The invitation to speak from Egypt's Al Azhar mosque follows an
announcement over this past weekend that Obama will travel to Egypt next
month to deliver his promised address to the Muslim world.
According to Al-Masri Al-Yawm, a state-run Egyptian newspaper, Grand
Mufti Ali Gomaa and other scholars from Egypt's Al Azhar University
invited Obama to use the mosque as venue for the president's upcoming
visit, explaining it would promote a culture of dialogue between Islam
and the West.
Al AZhar University is the most respected Sunni
Islamic learning center in the world and is the second oldest
degree-granting school in the world. Clerics at the university's
attendant mosque decide Islamic Sharia law matters for Sunni Muslims
internationally.
The university opened studies in 975 AD. It was
founded by the Fatimid dynasty of Egypt, which is descended from the
daughter of the Islamic figure Muhammad.
It is highly unusual for
a non-Muslim to speak at the mosque. An Egyptian official,
contacted by WND, could not think of any non-Muslim world leader who had
received an invitation to do so.
Obama had pledged he
would deliver an address to the Muslim world within his first few months
in office. His first interview as president was with Al Arabiya,
the
pan-Arab television network.
White House press secretary Robert
Gibbels said on Saturday the city where Obama will deliver the address has
not been selected.
Gibbels said Obama decided upon Egypt because
the country "in many ways represents the heart of the Arab world." He
said the issues of democracy and human rights "are things that are on
the president's mind, and we'll have a chance to discuss those in more
depth on the trip."
"This isn't a speech to leaders," Gibbels
said. "This is a speech to many, many people and a continuing effort by
this president and this White House to demonstrate how we can work
together to ensure the safety and security and the future well-being,
through hope and opportunity, of the children of this country and of the
Muslim world."
If you
wonder why I compare White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs (Gibbels)
to Joseph Goebbels, jus re-read that last paragraph.
Our safety
and security, and the future well-being of the children of this country,
should be based on hope? That's insane!
And, this is an
interesting statement -- It is highly
unusual for a non-Muslim to speak at the mosque. An Egyptian
official...could not think of any non-Muslim world leader who had
received an invitation to do so.
We all know that Obama isn't a
Muslim, don't we. After all, he said so.

Obama Lends Validity To Extremist Islam
David Frum believes Barack Obama made an unwise commitment during
his campaign. Actually he made quite a number of them, but this column
will have to settle for dealing with just one: Candidate Obama promised
to deliver a major speech to the Muslim world from a Muslim capital. On
June 4, Obama will make good on that promise in Cairo.
What could go wrong with this heartwarming outreach? Begin with this
question: Does Obama regard Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali
as belonging to the Muslim world, yes or no?
If yes -- if "the
Muslim world" includes everyone who happens to be born to a family of
Muslim origin regardless of their personal belief, and if it includes
liberals of Muslim origin, secularists of Muslim origin, atheists of
Muslim origin -- then it seems almost pointless to speak to them all as
a distinctive group.
The more likely answer however is no. Almost
inevitably, Obama’s speech will address the most anti-Western,
the most militant, the most radical Muslims. The decision to speak "to"
the Muslim world is a decision to speak "to" these rejectionists.
Look at the choice of venue. Obama could have spoken from
Indonesia or Bangladesh -- each of them home to more Muslims than live
in the Arab Middle East. In Indonesia and Bangladesh, the prevailing
forms of Islam are moderate and tolerant. Each of these countries is
working to build a more democratic society, more connected to the global
economy.
Instead Obama chose Egypt. Egypt is the
intellectual center of the most radical forms of Islam. The Muslim
Brotherhood originated in Egypt, as did Sayyid Qutb, the ideologist of
modern jihad. This is the country of Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Ayman
Zawahiri. It would be extremely odd to speak from Egypt and not take
such men and their ideas into account.
But to do so has an
ironic side effect: The very fact that an American leader talks about
these extremist Muslims -- and tries to talk through them to reach their
sympathizers -- validates them as the most important and significant of
Muslim individuals. It risks conceding that these men are somehow the
most "authentic" of Muslims, and that their anger and alienation somehow
matters more than the desire of other Muslims to live in a more secular
society or to participate more fully in the global economy.
Radical Muslims have constructed a narrative in which Islam is oppressed
and colonized by the West, Muslims have real and reasonable grievances
against the West and any acrimony between Muslims and the West is due to
the actions of the West.
Perhaps Obama will dispute this
narrative. But can he really go to Cairo and dismiss the narrative
altogether?
Can he say that the problems of Muslim majority
countries have nothing to do with the West -- that if they are
victimized it is by their own leaders, if they are backward it is due to
their own rejection of modern ways of life?
The very act of
speaking to individuals of Muslim origin as Muslims concedes a point
that an American leader should be wary of conceding. No leader
would ever give a speech to "the Christian world." He’d take for granted
that Christian identity is personal and private, not collective and
public. He’d remember that Christian-majority countries contain
non-Christian minorities, entitled to equal respect. He’d understand
that many in the Christian majority define their identity in terms other
than religion; and that the freedom to choose how to define oneself is
one of the fundamental principles of a free society. Qaradawi and
the Muslim Brotherhood insist that Islam is inescapably public and
political. But why would an American leader agree? Yet if he speaks
to "the Muslim world" how can he avoid agreeing?
The Pakistani
scholar who wants to be free to study the origins of the Koran without
fear of violence if he reaches an unorthodox conclusion -- isn’t he part
of the Muslim world too? The Saudi woman who would like to wear jeans in
public? The Iranian youth who would like to convert to the Bahai faith? The Syrian merchant who thinks mosque is a waste of time? The French
student who celebrates Ramadan with his parents and Christmas with his
girlfriend? Or his boyfriend?
Obama’s 2009
Supplemental Appropriations for Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and
Pandemic Flu was revised and "passed by the full committee." Not
sure what the next step is, but based on the summary, it gives
billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to countries and entities that
support Sharia law and/or harbor, hide and support those who want to
destroy the U.S. and our allies.
Read the
summary from David Obey’s office that was quietly released last week
with nary a word from any media.
• $3.6 billion, matching the
request, to expand and improve capabilities of the Afghan security
forces

including an expanded mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
and a new mission in Chad and the Central African Republic
• Department of Justice: $17 million, matching the

assistance for the Iraqi criminal justice system
The mainstream media remains silent on this but the
International News has now
picked up the story -- and then there is Obama’s $108 billion IMF
bailout
scheme in addition to the Supplemental.

Obama Funds Hamas
Obama has
asked Congress to
let aid to Palestinians continue if
Hamas backers are included in a new
unity government, observers say.
The proposed change in U.S. law
would be necessary because Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, is
designated as a terrorist organization and therefore cannot receive U.S.
aid. But power-sharing negotiations between Hamas and the rival Fatah
faction, which controls the West Bank, may result in a unity Palestinian
government that includes ministers backed by Hamas, the Los Angeles
Times reported.
The White House sought the change as part of a
bill authorizing $840 million for the Palestinian Authority as well as
for rebuilding Gaza after this year’s 22-day Israeli military assault.
The Hamas proposal brought criticism from U.S. lawmakers, the Times
said -- one of whom, U.S. Rep. Mark Steven Kirk, R-Ill., said the move
was akin to supporting a government that "only has a few Nazis in it."
"We don’t want to … bind our hands in the event that such a
(Palestinian unity) agreement is reached, and the government that they
are part of agrees to our principles," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton reportedly replied.
So as not to confuse, Hamas is the
Muslim Brotherhood organization who’s sole purpose is the destruction of
Israel -- anyone who thinks otherwise should read Hamas in their own
words via the
Hamas Covenant which lays out their purpose, goals, and
ideology.
In the midst of what is being called the worst economic
crisis since the Great Depression, where our government has created the
largest deficit in history, giving a billion to anyone is insane. But
giving a billion dollars to a self-proclaimed Islamic jihadist group
that has stated the United States as its enemy is beyond insanity, and
it needs to stop.

Obama Promises Jerusalem To Arabs
Obama and his administration
told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during a meeting last
week the U.S. foresees the creation of a Palestinian state with
Jerusalem as its capital, according to a top PA official.
"The American administration was very friendly to the
position of the PA," said Nimer Hamad, Abbas' senior political adviser.
"Abu Mazen (Abbas) heard from Obama and his administration in a
very categorical way that a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its
capital is in the American national and security interest," Hamad said.
Another PA official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Obama informed Abbas he would not let Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu "get in the way" of normalizing U.S. relations with the Arab
and greater Muslim world.
"We were told from this new
administration they will not allow a Netanyahu government to hurt their
efforts of rehabilitating U.S. relations with the Arab and Islamic
world, which is a high priority of Obama," the official said, speaking
during a visit to Cairo.
Obama will
offer a "personal commitment" to bridge US differences
with Muslims in his long-awaited speech to the Islamic world next week
in Egypt, aides said.
But White House advisors said Friday that
Obama would not shy away from addressing "tough issues" in the speech on
Thursday at the University of Cairo which will be co-hosted by Al-Azhar
University, an ancient center of Islam and learning.
"The speech
will outline his personal commitment to engagement, based upon mutual
interests and mutual respect," White House spokesman Robert Gibbels said.
"He will discuss how the United States and Muslim communities
around the world can bridge some of the differences that have divided
them.
"He will review particular issues of concern, such as
violent extremism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and he will
discuss new areas for partnership going forward that serve the mutual
interests of our people."
"...an ancient center of Islam and learning" -- now there's a phrase
that contradicts itself.

Muslims Seek Changes From Obama
Respect for
Islam, a prescription for Palestinian statehood and assurances of a
speedy U.S. pullout from Iraq -- that's what Muslims from Morocco to
Malaysia say they
want to hear from Barack Obama this week
when he addresses them from this Arab capital.
His speech
Thursday from Cairo University will try to soften the fury toward the
United States among so many of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims.
Obama's offer of a new beginning is seen as an attempt to stem the
growing influence of extremists -- particularly Iran, with its regional
and nuclear ambitions -- and to bolster moderate Muslim allies.
It
comes just days ahead of crucial elections in Lebanon and Iran -- where
the appeal of militancy will be put to the test -- and amid worsening
violence in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The American leader's
soaring oratory and Muslim roots have kindled hope among Muslims.
There is doubt the U.S. president can change entrenched foreign
policy, particularly what is perceived in the Muslim world as
Washington's pro-Israeli bias. What Muslims see as America's repeated
failure to hold Israel to its international obligations is a sore point.
A construction freeze in Israeli West Bank settlements -- Obama wants it,
Israel rejects it -- is shaping up as a major test.
Obama's
initial actions have earned him good will. He's reached out to Muslims
in an interview with an Arab satellite TV station, in video message to
Iranians on the Persian new year and in a speech to the Turkish
parliament. He ordered Guantanamo prison closed within a year and said
the U.S. would not engage in torture, reversing two Bush policies seen
here as having targeted Muslims.
Obama gets some credit up front
for just being himself. Many were inspired by his victory, emotionally
connecting to his African and Muslim roots and his childhood in
Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation.
"It's so
exciting to have a black man run the entire world," said Awni Shatarat,
45, a clothing store owner in the Palestinian refugee camp of Baqaa in
Jordan.

Obama Supports Saudi Immunity
The Obama administration has
petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to protect Saudi Arabia and four of
its princes from being held accountable for their alleged role in the
September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the United States that killed
almost 3,000 Americans.
Through its solicitor general, Elena
Kagan, the Obama administration has asked that the Saudis be held immune
under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, or FSIA, even though there
is ample U.S. evidence of complicity by the Saudi government and the
named princes in support of al-Qaida's terrorist attack.
While
the FSIA generally protects a sovereign state, there are exceptions
under which its provisions can be invoked. Such interpretations are left
largely to the courts to determine.
Families of the 9/11
victims, however, have expressed outrage over the Obama administration's
filing. They regard the action as undermining the continuing fight on
terror.
In its recent filing of an "amicus curiae" brief with the
U.S. Supreme Court in "Federal Insurance Co. vs. Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia," the Obama administration asked the court to deny a petition for
a "writ of certiorari" or higher court hearing by the families of the
victims of 9/11 in their effort to sue Saudi Arabia and its princes.
The Attorney
General released the following statement relating to Obama’s historic
speech today in Cairo, Egypt:
"The President's pledge for a new
beginning between the United States and the Muslim community takes root
here in the Justice Department where we are committed to using criminal
and civil rights laws to protect Muslim Americans. A top priority of
this Justice Department is a return to robust civil rights enforcement
and outreach in defending religious freedoms and other fundamental
rights of all of our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the housing
market, in our schools and in the voting booth.
"There are those
who will continue to want to divide by fear -- to pit our national
security against our civil liberties -- but that is a false choice. We
have a solemn responsibility to protect our people while we also protect
our principles."
"A top priority of this Justice Department is a
return to robust civil rights enforcement" -- as if civil rights were
trampled from 2001 to 2009.
And if you wish he would issue a
statement on protecting Americans from the Islamic jihad, you're just
continuing "to want to divide by fear."

Obama Flunks American History 101
Speaking at the University of
Cairo, Obama said that Americans are indebted
to Islam for the great contributions Muslims have made to the history
and development of the United States.
"I know that Islam has
always been a part of America’s story," Obama told the throng of
unenlightened Muslims. "The first nation to recognize my country was
Morocco... and since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the
United States."
Obama went on to say: "They [Muslims] have
fought in our wars. They have served in our government. They have stood
for civil rights. They have started businesses. They have taught at our
universities. They’ve excelled in our sports arenas. They’ve won Nobel
Prizes, built our tallest building and lit the Olympic torch. And when
the first Muslim American was recently elected to Congress, he took the
oath to defend our Constitution using the same holy Koran that one of
our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, kept in his personal library."
No one at the Egyptian University or the international media took
issue with Obama’s bizarre interpretation of American history,
let alone his confusion of the Nation of Islam (the religion of Muhammad
Ali and Malcolm X) that bears scant similarity to orthodox Islam. The
Nation of Islam teach that Allah in the flesh was a bona fide nutcase
named Wallace Fard and that Eli Muhammad, a conman with a tested IQ of
70 and not the Prophet Muhammad, was the true last prophet of Allah.
Let’s set the record straight once and for all.
Sorry, Barack
Hussein, but there were no Muslims among the passengers on the Mayflower
or the settlers at Jamestown. Muslims were conspicuously absent from the
ranks of George Washington’s Army of the Revolution and played no role
in the creation of the American republic -- save for the fact that the
new country’s first declaration of war was against the forces of Islam
in the form of the Barbary pirates.
With Obama's
unbelievably ballyhooed address in Cairo Thursday to what he calls "the
Muslim world" (hereafter known as "the Speech"), there is mounting
evidence that Obama not only identifies with Muslims, but
actually
may still be one himself. Consider the following indicators:
• Obama referred four times in his speech to "the Holy
Koran." Non-Muslims -- even pandering ones -- generally don't use that
Islamic formulation.
• Obama established his firsthand
knowledge of Islam (albeit without mentioning his reported upbringing in
the faith) with the statement, "I have known Islam on three continents
before coming to the region where it was first revealed." Again,
"revealed" is a depiction Muslims use to reflect their conviction that
the Koran is the word of God, as dictated to Muhammad.
• Then
Obama made a statement no believing Christian -- certainly not
one versed, as he professes to be, in the ways of Islam -- would ever
make. In the context of what he euphemistically called the "situation
between Israelis, Palestinians and Arabs," Obama said he looked forward
to the day ". . . when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews
and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of
Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when
Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them) joined in prayer."
Now, the term "peace be upon them" is invoked by Muslims as a way of
blessing deceased holy men. According to Islam, that is what all three
were -- dead prophets. Of course, for Christians, Jesus is the living
and immortal Son of God.
In the final analysis, it may be beside
the point whether Obama actually is a Muslim. In the Speech and
elsewhere, he has aligned himself with adherents to what authoritative
Islam calls
Shariah -- notably, the dangerous global movement known as
the
Muslim Brotherhood -- to a degree that makes Mr. Clinton's fabled
affinity for blacks pale by comparison.
For example, Obama
has -- from literally his inaugural address onward -- inflated the
numbers and, in that way and others, exaggerated the contemporary and
historical importance of Muslim-Americans in the United States. In the
Speech, he used the Brotherhood's estimates of "nearly 7 million
Muslims" in this country, at least twice the estimates from other, more
reputable sources. (Who knows? By the time Obama's friends in the
radical Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN)
perpetrate their trademark books-cooking as deputy 2010 census takers,
the official count may well claim considerably more than 7 million
Muslims are living here.)
Even more troubling were the
commitments the president made in Cairo to promote Islam in America. For
instance, he declared: "I consider it part of my responsibility as
president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of
Islam wherever they appear." He vowed to ensure that women can cover
their heads, including, presumably, when having their photographs taken
for passports, driver's licenses or other identification purposes. He
also pledged to enable Muslims to engage in zakat, their faith's
requirement for tithing, even though four of the eight types of charity
called for by Shariah can be associated with terrorism. Not
surprisingly, a number of Islamic "charities" in this country have been
convicted of providing material support for terrorism.
Particularly worrying is the realignment Obama has announced in U.S.
policy toward Israel. While he pays lip service to the "unbreakable"
bond between America and the Jewish state, the president has
unmistakably signaled that he intends to compel the Israelis to make
territorial and other strategic concessions to Palestinians to achieve
the hallowed two-state solution. In doing so, he ignores the
inconvenient fact that both the Brotherhood's Hamas and Abu Mazen's
Fatah remain determined to achieve a one-state solution, whereby the
Jews will be driven "into the sea."
Whether Obama actually is a
Muslim or simply plays one in the presidency may, in the end, be
irrelevant. What is alarming is that in aligning himself and his
policies with those of Shariah-adherents such as the Muslim Brotherhood,
Obama will greatly intensify the already enormous pressure on
peaceful, tolerant American Muslims to submit to such forces -- and
heighten expectations, here and abroad, that the rest of us will do so
as well.
"As the
Holy [sic!] Koran tells us, Be conscious of God and speak always the
truth," Obama told his audience at the beginning of his much
heralded speech in Cairo last week.
It was a remarkable
performance: not a single significant statement he made on the nature of
Islam, or on America’s relationship with the Muslim world, or on the
terrorist threat, complied with the quoted command of the prophet of
Islam.
Obama’s two immediate predecessors have done a lot of
respectful kowtowing, of course. Bill Clinton declared before the United
Nations in September 1998, "There is no inherent clash between Islam and
America." Three years and several thousand American lives later,
President Bush said, "there are millions of good Americans who practice
the Muslim faith who love their country as much as I love the country." Four years after 9-11 he continued insisting "the evil" unleashed on
that day "is very different from the religion of Islam," and its
proponents "distort the idea of jihad into a call for terrorist murder
against Christians and Jews and Hindus."
Obama brings a new
quality to the continuum, however. He is developing the theme in Islam’s
heartland. He is doing it in a manner likely to raise geopolitical
expectations that cannot be fulfilled, and certain to cement even
further the Muslim myth of blameless victimhood. It is the greatest
favor any recruiter for the cause of global jihad could hope for.
Is Obama deluded or mendacious? In view of his middle name and
family history, the question is more legitimate than it would have been
with Clinton or Bush.
With the media’s
rhapsodic paeans to President Obama’s "historic" Cairo speech now
receding into the background, this may be an opportune moment to take a
sober look at America’s policies vis-à-vis the Muslim world and, no less
important, at where Islam itself may be heading.
It is now clear
that the president is either unable or unwilling to come to terms with
the nature of the radical Islamic threat to America and the West. To
him, the problem is a few violent extremists, a "small but potent
minority of Muslims," which leaves one wondering how a small minority
got to be quite so potent. In any case, the West is dealing not with a
few militants, or even with terrorism as such, but with a murderous,
totalitarian doctrine couched in Islamic terms that has already become
the dominant idiom in much of the Muslim world and its diaspora
communities. Whether it is called "radical Islam," "Islamism," "Salafism,"
or "Islamofascism," it aims at nothing short of the conquest of the
world for Islam, by violent means if need be. And not just any kind of
Islam, but the most reactionary and intolerant interpretation of the
Muslim faith.
It is an ideology that elevates violent jihad as a
religious obligation for all Muslims, openly discriminates against
non-Muslims and women, banishes democracy and secularism, and ordains
the murder of apostates and homosexuals. This doctrine is preached today
in tens of thousands of Salafi, Wahhabi, and Deobandi mosques and
madrassas, and promoted by countless Islamist organizations, from the
Muslim Brotherhood networks in America to the Taliban and its fellow
jihadists in Pakistan. Extremism and terrorism are the results of this
malignant phenomenon. The Taliban and al-Qaeda did not bring Pakistan to
the edge of the precipice on their own; rather, 30 years of
state-sponsored Islamization of Pakistani society made Islamism the
threat it is.
While President Bush was also remiss in explaining
to Americans that we’re in a deadly conflict with a violent Islamist
doctrine that has deep and spreading roots among a quarter of the human
population -- rather than with terrorism, which is simply its symptom --
Obama has seemingly chosen to act as an apologist for this ideology. There is no other credible reason for a man with an army of experts,
researchers, and fact-checkers at his disposal to utter so many
half-truths and outright falsehoods about what Islam is and what it is
not.
America Talks blog
opines that with the dropping of the phrase "war on terror" and his
recent diatribe in Cairo, Barack Hussein Obama has effectively waved the
white flag at the radical faction of Islam that would seek to destroy
us.
Hussein Obama, now recognizing his Muslim roots, has reached
out with open arms to the very people who on September 11, 2001 murdered
nearly 3000 of our fellow citizens in one of the most horrific attacks
ever perpetrated on a nation.
Why is he doing this?
For
one of two reasons. Some would have us believe that by Hussein
Obama embracing Islam, the violence and jihad will end and we will reach
some sort of common ground on which to forge a new relationship.
Others say that Hussein Obama is in the camp of the jihadists, winking
and nodding at thugs like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose re-election in Iran
was fixed by the government because they know that the United States has
reversed over 30 years of policy regarding their nuclear ambitions.
Evidence seems to indicate the latter view.
Through his
cozying up to the Islamic world, Hussein Obama has also thrown Israel
under the bus, leaving them under a severe threat of annihilation by
enemies such as Iran and the Palestinians hell bent on their
destruction.
One can only conclude that Hussein Obama is a
radical Islamic sympathizer, now proudly admitting that he is one of
them, prostrating our country before them, and surrendering the United
States to their agenda of conversion or obliteration.
Allah must
be smiling.

Obama Speech Inspires Sharing
On Tuesday,
June 30, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will hold a
news conference in Washington, D.C., to announce the launch of a major
campaign to distribute
free copies of the Quran, Islam's revealed text,
to 100,000 local, state and national leaders.
CAIR's "Share the
Quran" educational campaign was prompted by Obama's recent address to
Muslims worldwide in which he quoted from that holy text.
In the
multi-year initiative, American Muslims will sponsor Qurans for
distribution to governors, state attorneys general, educators, law
enforcement officials, state and national legislators, local elected and
public officials, media professionals, and other local or national
leaders who shape public opinion or determine policy.
"Through
this ground-breaking outreach initiative, we hope not only to educate
policy-makers and opinion leaders about Islam, but also to provide an
opportunity for American Muslims to reach out to their fellow citizens
of other faiths," said CAIR Board Chairman State Sen. Larry Shaw (NC).
The "Share the Quran" initiative is an outgrowth of CAIR's
successful "Explore the Quran" campaign and is part of the celebration
of the Washington-based council's 15th anniversary. CAIR was founded in
June of 1994.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
Islamists! Sharing!

Obama Increases Aid To Muslim States
IsraelNationalNews.com
reports that in the latest in a recent series of
increased American assistance efforts for Arab and Muslim states, Barack
Obama has allocated an additional $150 million to the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordan. The regimes leading Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, the
United Arab Emirates and even Saudi Arabia have all benefited from
recent American policy shifts.
Jordan's Minister of Planning and
International Cooperation, Suhair Al-Ali, was quoted by The Jordan Times
as explaining that the kingdom receives $363 million annually from the
United States in economic assistance. The allocations signed into law by
Obama this week mean that Jordan will receive a total of $513 million
from the U.S. in 2009. The minister told the Jordanian newspaper that
the additional American aid was the result of ongoing efforts by
Jordan's King Abdullah II, as well as Obama's "recognition of the
important role Jordan plays in the region."
Egypt received $310
million in supplemental appropriations from the U.S. House of
Representatives, currently controlled by Obama's Democratic party. At
the same time, 2009 State Department funding for the promotion of
democratic initiatives in Egypt was cut from $50 million to $20 million. In addition, the U.S. has agreed not to give any of the pro-democracy
funds to organizations that are not approved by the Mubarak regime. In
the year 2007, Egypt received a total of $2.4 billion.
On
another front, in March of this year, it was reported that the Obama
administration planned to dramatically increase funding to the
Palestinian Authority for security training, which is conducted by
Jordanian police under the supervision of U.S. General Keith Dayton. The
U.S. allocated $75 million for the PA police training in 2008, but
reports indicated that the Obama administration was planning to pump up
to $130 million into the program in 2009. In any event, the U.S. has
already pledged $600 million in funds to the Palestinian Authority, with
another $300 million for humanitarian aid to the Hamas regime in Gaza.
Elsewhere in the region, the U.S. is set to help the United Arab
Emirates become the first Arab nation with a developed nuclear power
infrastructure. Obama gave his official support and
authorization for the $41 billion project, allowing private U.S.
companies to compete for construction contracts.
In Pakistan,
Obama proposed $2.8 billion in aid for that nation's
military, alongside civilian aid of $1.5 billion a year for the next
five years. The military aid is ostensibly to allow the Pakistanis to
more effectively fight jihadist and al-Qaeda terrorism emanating from
the Swat Valley and along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
The
Obama administration's assistance to Arab and Muslim states extends
beyond the monetary, however.
According to an article in Joseph
Farah's G2 Bulletin earlier this month, the American government has
petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to preserve sovereign immunity for the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and four Saudi princes in connection with a
civil case seeking compensation for victims of the massive September 11,
2001, al-Qaeda terrorist attacks on the American homeland. The claimants
in the case say that there is sufficient evidence of Saudi involvement
in 9/11 for the court to lift the normally applicable immunity.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, told
Newsweek magazine this month that the United States should cut off all
aid to Israel if the Jewish State does not accept the 2002
Saudi-sponsored Arab-Israeli terms of negotiation.
