Miranda Rights for Terrorists
When 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was captured on March 1,
2003, he was not cooperative. "I’ll talk to you guys after I get to New
York and see my lawyer," he said, according to former CIA Director
George Tenet.
Of course, KSM did not get a lawyer until months
later, after his interrogation was completed, and Tenet says that the
information the CIA obtained from him disrupted plots and saved lives. "I believe none of these successes would have happened if we had had to
treat KSM like a white-collar criminal -- read him his Miranda rights and
get him a lawyer who surely would have insisted that his client simply
shut up," Tenet wrote in his memoirs.
If Tenet is right, it’s a
good thing KSM was captured before Barack Obama was elected. For,
the Obama Justice Department has
quietly ordered FBI agents to read
Miranda rights to high value detainees captured and held at U.S.
detention facilities in Afghanistan, according a senior Republican on
the House Intelligence Committee. "The administration has decided to
change the focus to law enforcement. Here’s the problem. You have
foreign fighters who are targeting US troops today -- foreign fighters
who go to another country to kill Americans. We capture them…and
they’re reading them their rights -- Mirandizing these foreign fighters," says
Representative Mike Rogers, who recently met with military, intelligence
and law enforcement officials on a fact-finding trip to Afghanistan.
Rogers, a former FBI special agent and U.S. Army officer, says the
Obama administration has not briefed Congress on the new policy. "I was
a little surprised to find it taking place when I showed up because we
hadn’t been briefed on it, I didn’t know about it. We’re still trying to
get to the bottom of it, but it is clearly a part of this new global
justice initiative."
Activity In Kerchner v Obama & Congress Case
The federal court in Camden, N,J has granted the defendants (Obama and
Congress) a second request for a time extension but wrote a lengthy
order reasoning the importance of the case.
Granting the delay
indicates the court is taking this case very seriously -- as I read the
order.
My idea to sue Congress over this matter and the
violations of my rights may be the key to getting this issue finally
addressed. The judge in New Jersey indicates in his order that this case raises

reports that it took a Boeing 757 and a fleet of
armored cars for Michelle’s taxpayer-paid sight seeing tour!

On Sunday, Obama flew back to the
United States on Air Force One. His wife, two daughters and her mother
did a bit of shopping in Paris before taking their own Boeing 757 (C-32)
over to London to do some sight seeing.
We all remember Obama’s
admonishment to corporate CEO’s in February:
"You can’t get
corporate jets, you can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the
Super Bowl on the taxpayers dime."
Apparently that doesn’t apply
to his wife.
The London Times opened it’s description of
Michelle’s visit this way:
Motorcycle outriders, armored
Chevrolets and bullet-headed men in raincoats criss-crossed London
yesterday as Michelle Obama and her daughters spent a second day on an
unofficial visit to the capital.
Michelle’s motorcade shut down
London streets as the First Lady of the World and her children
go for Fish and Chips at a pub in Mayfair. The entourage inside the
restaurant was 15 people while dozens more wait outside. Include the
dozens of Air Force personnel to fly and service the plane, embassy
personnel and other staff and we are talking about a serious expenditure
of tax payer dollars.
Meanwhile, millions of Americans have lost
their jobs and won’t be able to take their family on a summer holiday.
Despite their circumstances they’ll still be expected to fork over the
tax dollars to pay for Michelle’s trip.
Obama Tells American Businesses to Drop Dead
I’ve finally figured
out the Obama economic strategy. Obama and his team have been having so
much fun wielding dictatorial power while rescuing "failed" firms, that
they have developed a scheme to gain the same power over every business. The plan is to enact policies that are so anticompetitive that every
firm needs a bailout.
Once that happens, their new pay czar
Kenneth Feinberg can set the wage for everybody and Rahm Emanuel can
stack the boards of all of our companies with his political cronies.
I know, it sounds like an exaggeration, but look at it this way. If
there were a power ranking of U.S. companies, like the ones compiled by
football writers for National Football League teams, Microsoft would
surely be first or second to Google. But last week, Microsoft Chief
Executive Officer Steve Ballmer came to Washington to announce what
Microsoft would do if Obama’s multinational tax policy is enacted.
"It makes U.S. jobs more expensive," Ballmer said, "We’re better off
taking lots of people and moving them out of the U.S." If Microsoft,
perhaps our most competitive company, has to abandon the U.S. in order
to continue to thrive, who exactly is going to stay?
