If there are any messages the machine, it will tell you if there are any. From here you can dial #1 to listen to messages delivered to mailbox 1 (this is the default mailbox where most will leave their messages). This answering machine has a total of three mailboxes. If you want to listen to messages from mailbox 2 or 3 you can dial #2 or #3 to listen to those messages. To skip the message you are currently listening to and go to the next one, then you can press #6 to skip forward. You might be wondering how to identify these models if you are calling someone's land line. If they have left the default greeting on the machine and you are presented with the option of leaving a message in a different mailbox, then you might have encountered one of these.
