DC440 Tone Reader $259.00

The DC440 is a powerful yet flexible instrument for decoding sub-audible and digital signaling tones as well as Touch-toneĀ® characters. The DC440 monitors the demodulated audio output from a communications receiver, service monitor, scanner, or Interceptortm. The DC440 automatically decodes CTCSS tones and DCS codes. A unique feature of this instrument is that DTMF characters are also simultaneously displayed on the two line alpha numeric LCD.

A serial data jack permits connection to a PC serial port using the OptoLinx interface. The DC440 has a complete set of control codes to permit operation from a PC.

When used with a CI-V compatible communications receiver and PC, automatic monitoring of communications channels for tone and code usage is possible using ScanStar, ScanCat or RCSI software.

The DC440 has six operating modes for maximum flexibility. On power up the default mode permits automatic detection and display of 50 CTCSS tones and 106 DCS codes along with 16 DTMF characters. When connected to the discriminator circuit of a communications receiver and a logical output from the squelch circuit, the DC440 can be used to automatically monitor tone and code usage as well as uncoded transmissions. Other modes include CTCSS/DTMF, DCS/DTMF, DTMF only, and Period measurement for monitoring non-standard tones. A squelch status indicator and decode activity indicator make the DC440 the most flexible and powerful instrument of its kind.
