The GSHPC SSTV-program, also known as "SAW-SCAN", allows to send and receive color images with a high color resolution. However, the program only requires a very simple interface circuit and offers very good picture quality.
* 14 thumbnail pictures * Split window for TX/RX * Multitasking, e.g. image manipulating during receiving. * Support all commonly used SSTV modes (Martin, Robot, Scottie and SC-2) * Load BMP, TIFF, TGA, PCX, CMP and JPG (JFIF and JTIFF) image formats * Save TIFF, BMP and JPG format (three different compression levels * Needs a very simple comparator type interface * Up to 16 M. colours by VESA-norm. compatibility * DOS program allows real time display of the video signal * User friendly windows technique, easy of use * High image quality and synchron stability *----------- additonal features in the version 2.3 ------------ * Mouse control, * Auto-Save, * Noise reduction for VHF FM.
The program runs on MS-DOS-PCs with at least 4MB memory. It needs an 1-MB S-VGA adapter supporting one of the 640x480 pixel VESA- modes 272, 273 or 274. We suggest using at least 486 processor machine with PCI VGA-board.
To convert the audio signal between transceiver and PC, a very simple HAMCOM-type interface circuit is used. This kind of interface circuit is used by several other RTTY and SSTV programs. See also the page "Modem Informations " below for ordering informations.
