"If we can't help you then nobody can!"
Education:
1993 The University of Sussex, Brighton.
Result: High 2.1 or B+ Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Artificial
Intelligence
Course: (The only course of its kind in the U.K., My CAO first choice.)
An intensive two degree course completed in July, 1996 (3-Year).
"The Cognitive Sciences Institute at Sussex is rated No. 1 in all of Europe and
Asia." - Time Magazine 1994.
This particular course is the toughest within this
institution, with a high dropout rate due to the high pressure deadlines. Each
student relies on self-motivation and powerful time management skills in order
to survive the diverse work schedules of up to 140 hours a week (20 hrs a day),
producing up to 2000 lines of code per project, eight projects a term, each project
fully tested and documented. Each student is given 24-hour access via electronic
locks to a UNIX Mainframe computer lab with unlimited Internet access. These unbelievable
statistics produce the world's best computer experts, equipped with a huge expanse
of state of the art knowledge in the field of computers as a whole. From a glance
at the subjects and results listed in the included transcript sheet, it is possible
to see how practical and wide-ranging this carefully chosen syllabus was. From
this degree I learned many things, time management for tough deadlines, rapid
production of high quality well commented code with a clear concise style of presentation
expressed through documentation, interface design, performance and efficiency
statistical charts.
