I put this knowledge into practice when I took a local team of young programmers to world ranking in the world Olympics for high speed computer problem solving in '93. I ranked number one in my country in the years of 1991 and 1992 and sixth (450 countries, 1800 contestants) in the world Olympics of 1993.
I have an avid interest in computers and their applications in both business and science, and have gained extensive experience in both fields. I have found that Multimedia and Interactive software encompass a need for knowledge in areas of management, planning, design, usability, graphics, sound, education and various technical issues such as the efficient localisation and source control of software. In order to study where this particular area is leading to, I have read and researched extensively on the current state of Virtual Reality and it's proposed implications. I have also had many years experience with all types of software on multi platforms and have been using CD-ROM and multimedia software specifically for the last two years. It is this type of work that I find most interesting and it allows me to use my skills in each related field to achieve production levels high in both quality and quantity.
Each time I work for a company I do my best to automate my assigned tasks, with artificial intelligence coding methods where necessary, so that when the time comes for me to return to my studies, I spend the final weeks training my replacements to maintain and control the software. This saves the company time, money and resources on a large scale and in the long term. I have been referred to as an "open minded, highly adaptable, original thinker who aims to please", all that I ask is not to take all of this evidence on faith, but allow me to prove what must seem like exaggerations. I take great pride in my work and have yet to let a manager down by missing a deadline.
Another aspect of my work methods is that in certain situations I can refer to my international colleagues whom I've made it a priority to meet and remain in contact with. These contacts are the world's best experts in their respective fields. This allows a company to have access to the very best of professional advice, information and specialised software that cannot be bought or gained otherwise. In areas of design, security and marketing this advice can benefit the company in countless ways.
I can apply my skills to the localisation department by databasing the common market languages for standard application terminology so that time and money can be saved on the hiring of "mother-tongue" translators for each package and language. With my ability to convert theory to practical programming specifications, this should enable us to cover a lot of ground in producing usable in-house software.
