NAME
       arping - sends arp and/or echo requests to a given host

SYNOPSIS
       arping [-q] [-h] [-v] [-r] [-d] [-0] [-c count] [-i inter-
       face] host

DESCRIPTION
       The arping utility sends ARP and/or ICMP requests  to  the
       specified  host	and displays the replies. The host may be
       specified by its DNS, its IP address, or its MAC	 address.

       One request is sent each second.

OPTIONS
       -h     Displays a help message and exits.

       -q     Does not display messages, except error messages.

       -v     Verbose output.

       -q     Quiet output.

       -r     Raw  output : only the MAC address is displayed for
	      each reply.

       -d     Find duplicate replies.

       -0     Use this option to ping with source address 0.0.0.0
	      IP,  or  you may get some error messages, depending
	      on your system.

       -c count
	      Only send count requests.

       -i interface
	      Use the specified interface.
