NEVER TOO LATE

   CHARLEY REESE'S Feb. 13 column regarding the attack by Israel
on the USS Liberty is right on target.  The men who suffered
casualties during that attack were among the Navy's cream of
the crop, and they are deserving of a public explanation by our
government in order that blame can be put on the responsible
parties.

   The explanation by Israel that it was mistaken identity is
unacceptable, as well as our government's coverup in this matter.
It is not too late to punish the responsible government and
its criminals.
