As noted by Heinlein, quoted by the the author of the
Last Dino rant, "experts" typically under-project an
exponential ramp.
Here is "The Gartner Group" duly revising upward their
projections for Linux. So the official conservative
corporate projection is now that Linux will eat half
of Window's enterprise lunch by 2005.
Basically, Linux is now doing for OSes what
gcc did for compilers. :)
