Group 42 Sells Out!

SA8600 Stamp Test Chip

by G-Man of Group 42

The SA8600 Stamp Fix is a solid fix for the SA8600. The code is burned onto a PIC16c54.

You wire up the pic with a RC OSc useing a 100pf cap and a 5K resistor.

          PIC SA Serial EE (93*66 Equiv)
       ------------     ------------
       Pin 10 (RB4) --> Pin 01 Chip Select
       Pin 11 (RB5) --> Pin 02 Clock
       Pin 12 (RB6) --> Pin 03 Data In
       Pin 13 (RB7) --> Pin 04 Data Out
                           ORG=VCC
and
          PIC            SA 40 PIN
       ------------     ------------
       Pin 18 (RA1) --> Pin 01 reset
       Pin 01 (RA2) --> Pin 37 remote data in

       Pin 04 (MCLR)--> Pin 40 +5v
       Pin 14 (VDD) --> Pin 40 +5v
       Pin 05 (VSS) --> Pin 20 GND
Cut and lift PIN 22 of 40 PIN chip. Put a 470 ohm resistor between PIN 22 of 40 PIN chip and the CS (PIN 1) of the 8 pin EEPROM. This isolates two DIRECT CS output lines.

Solder the PICS RB4 to the EEPROM PIN 1 directly. All other connections you may find them where ever on the connector or directly to the EEPROM.

Pressing the BUY button will activate the descrambling. If unit stops working press the BUY button again -or- unplug unit for 15 seconds and plug back in to reset the unit.
