Tools

These tools are either cracked or uncracked, and some are also freeware. If you downloaded uncracked ones, DO NOT e-mail me for them, or even where to get them. LEARN how to search effectively. Or better, LEARN how to crack it YOURSELF. If I ever receive these type of e-mails, do expect me to delete them straightaway. If you have a tool you wrote to be posted here, please e-mail me at y_t_c@usa.net. You may attach your tool together in the e-mail IF AND ONLY IF the tool is LESS THAN 200KB long. Otherwise, please provide an URL for me to download it, or DCC Send it to me when I'm on IRC at EFNet #cracking4newbies, #cracking or #win32asm. Also, please include a documentation on how to use that tool. And make sure your tool is virus-free ;-).

Debuggers
Numega Softice for Win9x v3.25 [ Download ] 2.94 MB
Known to be the best debugger around, although not the easiest to use. Better is to get its manual and learn how to make full use of this tool's features.
Numega Softice for WinNT v3.25 [ Download ] 2.94 MB
For Windows NT.
Numega Smartcheck for Win9xNT v6.03 [ Download ] 8.74 MB
A pretty good debugging tool for applications written in Visual Basic 5 and above.
Disassemblers
Windows Disassembler v8.93 [ Download ] 558 KB
This is the first choice for newbies because of its Window-based interface, and very easy to use, although lacks the flexibility of IDA.
JAD v1.5.5.2 [ Download ] 158 KB
This is an amazing tool by Pavel Kouznetsov (hello ;-) to disassemble Java class files.
File editors
Hackers View (HIEW) v6.16 [ Download ] 331 KB
In my opinion, the best hexeditor available. Do not look down at its DOS interface. It has a LOT of functions that normal hexeditors do not have. I'll leave it to you to explore this extraodinary tool. Unfortunately, this tool is no longer freeware.
PEBuilder v0.7 [ Download[pebuild07.zip - MISSING] ] 168 KB
An impressive tool written by the great NetWalker for editing PE files. It has a built in hex-editor and a simple disassembler.
