Early Friday morning the web page of the Laboratory of Acceleration and Applied Superconductives in Italy was hacked by a hacking group known as The Mersonaries.
They have claimed that no data was damaged or destroyed. Only the home page of the site had been changed.
The hacked page asked the administrators of the site to 'please, add some stronger security'.
The Mersonaries feel that this research facility is conducting some sort of nuclear research. In their opinion sites that are doing such high level and dangerous work should have much higher levels of security on machines that they have connected to the w
orld wide accessible internet.
