Prion Disease
Introduction
These diseases are also known as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies. They are very much in the public eye at the moment because of the problem of "mad cow disease" Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) and its possible link with a novel form of Creuzfeldt-Jakob Disease, the human equivalent.
