Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Technician - 2 posts

 

1. Applications are invited from postdoctoral electrophysiologists to work on the neuronal (patho)physiology of prion proteins: (1) neuronal pathophysiology of transgenic mice infected with Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease and (2) electrophysiological phenotypes of mice with mutations of prion protein genes in the search for structure-function relationships. web page: Prion Disease Research

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a Neuroscience area and experience in cellular electrophysiology in brain slices. Experience with biohazards is desirable.

Applications are invited from laboratory technicians to maintain two research laboratories in a clean, safe and efficient state, and to assist in experimental research on brain function and disease. The primary responsibility will be for an MRC Special Project Grant on "Brain pathophysiology in experimental models of human prion diseases".

The post will be at level C or D according to experience, and is available from June 1999 until at least June 2002 (negotiable).
