The day after my parents left me at the institution, I was brought to a large cold room which was empty save what looked very much like a dentist's chair. I was strapped into the chair and two technicians rolled in a large machine which I cannot clearly describe. Electrodes were strapped to my head and one of the technicians began fiddling with the machine.

The next thing I can clearly remember is fire ripping through my brain. I broke one of the straps on my wrist due to the severity of the convulsions. I have no idea how long this lasted, but I had to be carried out.

I was placed on several experimental drugs, most of which served only to befuddle my brain. These were switched fairly often and were frequently combined to monitor the way they would interact.

I went through this hell for nearly a year before being sent to another facility where much of the same things occurred. Eventually I was let go, but that was close to eight years later.

In 1997, I gave birth to a son, whom the state of Maine took into their custody. Shortly after giving birth, I was sent to a hospital in Massachusetts where I underwent brain surgery due to an "aneurysm". I have since experienced nightmares unrelated to the prior abuse, a feeling that I am being followed, and other frightening things.

Back in 2001 I saw an otolaryngologist and was put through two stapedectomies, which involved the removal of a small bone in my ear and the insertion of a prosthetic. This occurred just as the nightmares had begun to taper off a bit, but they have been going strong since then.
