A combination of Melissa and PRI, a new virus dubbed "Prilissa", has
the capability to reformat your hard drive. If activated before
Christmas day the payload will wait until the 25th before it attempts
to reformat your drive. It is another one of those viruses that
spreads via e-mail and takes advantage of security holes in both

When Time Warner detectives saw an advertisement for cable boxes in a
Filipino newspaper they called the Sheriffs Department. After
following a trail form a Post Office box in Nevada to to a business in
Las Vegas they arrived at the home of Bau Nguyen in La Canada
Flintridge, California. There investigators seized over 350 illegal
cable descrambling boxes used for pirating cable TV. The boxes are
estimated to be worth $2 million. (They also supposedly seized an
'e-prompt' burner. Bwaahahaha. Hmmm, 350 boxes for 2mil that is
almost 6 Grand per box, yeah right.)

of significant updates to existing mirrors, they have created several
new
targeted mail lists to help notify people of defaced sites.
'defaced-gm'
caters to individuals that wish to stay abreast of the latest
Government

designed
for law enforcement and security admins that wish to be notified
immediately, via alpha-numeric pager.
