Under the supervision of Professor John Jefferys and Professor John Collinge I am carrying out neurophysiological studies on hippocampal slices obtained from PrP gene homozygous (with or without PrP gene at all) and heterozygous (one allele of PrP gene knocked out) mice, to investigate mechanisms of the abnormalities of synaptic inhibition at different levels of the expression of the PrP protein.
